Jockey Tim Doocy notches 5,000th winner
USA: VETERAN jockey Tim Doocy has become the 25th North American-based rider to hit the 5,000-winnermark after a victory at Oaklawn Park on Saturday.
The 53-year-old needed a double to reach the milestone, and he duly scored in the first and last races at the Arkansas track, partnering 10-1 shot Color Me Out in the closing event.
According to The Blood-Horse, Doocy's mounts have won more than $65 million since 1976.
The rider has 298 stakes wins to his name, the highlight being Restless Con's success in the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational in 1990.
