Absolutely AB - I do not believe we have seen the best of her yet. She may just be one of SA'a better fillies but not showing her hand just yet, just showing glimpses. This is not inside info merely an opinion. One of these days she will fire at 10/1 or above and I will be on. I'm amazed how people still under rate the Marcus yard and their horses.

Pirates please see Hotlines comments above. As far as I'm aware (Hotline = Puffin)

To go back to the purpose of this post, is there anyone else out there who saw race 1 at Greyville 10/04 (raining cats and dogs). I cannot remember the horses names but the "winner" took up the running of the horse who ended up being promoted from second at the top of the straight or at least 3/4 of the way home. Yesterday the winner took up the running of a few horses - closer to the line. Similar circumstances different results. Nothing on the NHRA website about either race.

Please can I have comments from the clan. Remember the issue is consistancy of the stipes not who owns what horse or what price each was.

Here's the relevant Rule from the NHRA website (easy to access by anyone who want to know any of the Rules)

69.3 When an OBJECTION is lodged in terms of RULE 68.2.6. the OBJECTION
shall not be upheld unless the OBJECTION BOARD is satisfied that:-
69.3.1 a placed HORSE was interfered with by another placed HORSE and/or its
RIDER during a RACE and the HORSE which was interfered with would, but
for the interference, have finished ahead of the HORSE which caused the
interference, in which event, the OBJECTION BOARD shall place the HORSE
which caused the interference behind the HORSE which was interfered with
or it may disqualify the HORSE which caused the interference;
69.3.2 any HORSE in the RACE was interfered with by any other HORSE and/or its
RIDER and as a result of which the chances of the HORSE interfered with
were jeopardised, the OBJECTION BOARD may, if it believes that the nature
of the interference warrants such action, disqualify the HORSE which caused
the interference.
69.4 For the purposes of RULE 69.3, a placed HORSE shall mean any of the
HORSES placed in the first five to finish the RACE by the judge.

Hi Al,

The horses concerned on 10/4 were Brooke Green (Promoted) and Whole Kaboodle (Demoted). In this race Whole Kaboodle shifted out badly causing K Teetan the jockey of Brooke Green to stop riding for a couple of strides and then continuing shifting Brooke Green outwards. The interference started at about the 300m mark and continued to just short of the finishing line. Brooke Green lost by a short head, 0.05 lengths the offical distance. In my opinion if Brooke Green was not interfered with he would have won the race.

In yesterdays race was there an offical objection lodged. Cecil in the tellytrack studio said there was a race review with no further action taken. If the stipes didn't object and the Jockey and Trainer of the interfered with horse or horses can also lay an objection. If they did not object they clearly also didn't feel that there was enough interference for either Loupe or Cocoa Beach to have beaten On Her Toes. In my opinion neither Loupe or Cocoa Beach would have definately beaten On Her Toes if no interference took place as she beat them by 0.60 lenghts and neither were doing too much catching before any interference took place..

Yip...not for the July but any race where supplemented entries are allowed.I believe a draw is automatically done for the supplemented entries and then slotted in according to what draw they get?

Let me try again...

The conditions of the Guineas say nothing about having the draw before supplementary noms.
The draws are on the website, but there are no weights yet. They come after supplementary entries.

Program reads:

Entries 11:00 Friday, 17 April 2009 Fee: R1 140
Supp Entries 11:00 Friday, 24 April 2009 Fee: R2 280
Weights Friday, 24 April 2009
Declarations 11:00 Thursday, 30 April 2009 Fee: R4 560

Having no mention of the draw looks very strange to me.

Hotline you are correct. The horses drawn after where the supplementary horse is drawn are each move back one barrier position.
