Lucky let off? Does not explain the tactics IMO.

I didn't say that it explained the tactics, I was merely reporting back after reading the Stipes report. However, it is worth remembering that the first horse to go it alone up the outside (Frusk) didn't win, although he finished a good 2nd. The shortest way round was good enough for more than half of the day's winners, when all is said and done.

Magic,I wasn't confronting your post....just the stipes.
If many tickets, from a fav.,swing on to a new fav, the affected punters,of which there were many, would probably want to ask why the horse suddenly took an unusual option, taking into account the popular choice of the field, after 7 races had been run on the day.
My point is that the stipes are surely there to get answers to questions punters would like to ask,but can't.
It is surely important for racing to be seen to have checks and balances!
