Good morning plenty racing in the UK night and day, but have only looked at Newmarket, where plenty has been said on the 2000 gns.

Rip Van Winkle and Delegator could fight it out, I give slight preference to Delegator, but at 4/1 the field not cut and dry.

Spanish Moon vs Casual Conquest should be a close race, will go with Ryan Moore.

The very consistent Borderlescott should be a good e.w. at 9/2

Infiraad can win for the Hills combination.

Spring of Fame can win for Dettori.

morning Scotia, lovely day in UK today, am a few miles from Goodwood this weekend and very tempted to get their today for racing but we have guests so seeming unlikely!

In the 2000 GNS i like Ashram with Frankie on board, 25/1 ew.

And maybe another one for Frankie with Dandy Man in sprint race, Dandy Man 6/1.

Waiting for o`briens yard to hit form this season, hes had a lot of fancied horses turned over!

Delegator was impressive in the craven but beat a suspect field and that bare form is not good enough to win the 2000.

Stoute`s evasive has some potential as has Bolgers Gan amhras and roger charltons Cityscape may run a place.

If Borderlescott repeats its run when collared National colour in the nunthorpe it would be hard to beat

Thought Delegator was coming to win the race, but a bad day for the punters and a good day for the bookies,

Off to drink and be merry, and sing motown songs.

hope you all have a good evening at Churchill Downs.

Sea The Stars finished best of all under a power-packed Mick Kinane to land the stanjames.com 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

A well-backed 8-1 chance, the John Oxx-trained colt is closely related to Derby winner Galileo, and was immediately installed as favourite for this year's Epsom Classic after denying Delegator by a length and a half.

Gan Amhras took third, with Rip Van Winkle finishing strongly for fourth.

Sky Bet reacted by making the winner 9/2 for the Epsom Derby with both Gam Amhras and Rip Van Winkle 8/1.

Jamie Spencer looked to have timed things to perfection on 3-1 favourite Delegator after long-time leader Evasive gave way.

But Kinane was always going strongly, and with stamina seemingly not an issue, he was going away at the end.

Giving the veteran Kinane a fourth success in the colts' Classic, and Oxx a first, Sea The Stars' triumph was even more impressive considering he had reportedly not had the smoothest of preparations.

Brian Meehan's Delegator did virtually everything right, while the third and fourth are others bred to be better at distances in excess of a mile and ran big Derby trials.

Oxx said: "He's travelled wonderfully well throughout the race. "You could see from a long way out that he was going to make it count.

"He quickened well into the Dip for a relatively inexperienced horse - the rising ground suited him and he really got home well.

"Everyone keeps saying he's a Derby horse, thinking he's a half-brother to Galileo, but he is by Cape Cross and shows a lot of speed - I didn't want to miss the Guineas."

Kinane added: "He's a classy horse and we've waited for him all winter. "We had a setback five weeks ago, but, luckily, we were well ahead of schedule

"He's always been crying out for this ground."

Meehan was proud in defeat after Delegator finished second. "I'd say the ground was just a little too firm for him," reasoned the Manton handler.

"It hasn't quite happened - but he's run a cracker against two very good horses.

"It's a bit early to decide where he goes next."

Jim Bolger will now gear Gan Amhras towards the Derby at Epsom after his valiant third in the Guineas.

Bolger said: "Kevin Manning is certain he'll be suited by going a bit further - that was a Derby trial for him."

Johnny Murtagh was similarly pleased with the display of Aidan O'Brien's Rip Van Winkle, who finished fourth.

The jockey said: "They went very slow early on and when they quickened up, I had to switch him across.

"He's just been tapped for a little toe, but I'm really happy with the way he's run."

A FEMALE police officer and a racecourse security guard were taken to hospital after violence erupted at Newmarket on Saturday afternoon.

Seven arrests were made following the brawl involving male and female racegoers that began with a disagreement between two groups inside a marquee before escalating outside.

Six of the seven men arrested come from Coventry, while the seventh man lives in London. They have all been bailed to report to Bury St Edmunds police station on June 19.
