I'm up waiting for the kentucky derby & then to catch the replays of todays big T Races.
Young elvis only had 2 rides today. After finishing 5th last time on Game show, Ernie left her on again.... she ran a good 3rd today, running on strongly from the back.
i backed her e/way so was quite happy with the result............. pity is i NEVER played the QUARTET... paid 101 K

her 2nd ride was on R8 for Jan Breedt. young elvis had tried to secure the ride on hydrofoil ( she ran 3rd on this horse last time ) but it was not to be.... she was told the connections wanted a QUALIFIED JOCK on this time,( I suppose so they could have a GOOD punt ? ) so what happens Hydrofoil gets backed in from 10 / 1 to 9/2 ...2nd favourite.
The result young elvis wins on beyond the sunset at 33/1........ where was hydrofoil ? 2nd.... sweet justice some would say.

scotia.... this time I DID GET THE QUARTET.....part of it - paid 47 K backed the winner e/w, & got the p.a. so all is well that ends well.

just a brief story about appies..... Frodo , myself & John had a baby win 1st time with Devon Habib on top ( he was an appie then ) she followed up winning her 2nd start.... same appie on top.
she then won a G2 race the fillies nursery..appie on top ( appies first G2 winner )
then she won a G1 in Durban... the golden slipper again same appie on top ( appies first G1 winner )

it goes to show that SOMETIMES... VERY SELDOM IN FACT that appies are kept on horses after running good races ... far too often striker or the candy man or other top jocks replace the appies after running good or improved races..... well as they say that's racing..... is it fair ? NOT ALL OF THE TIME NO.... who rides work 6 days a week.... THE APPIES, & a lot of trainers do NOT reward them with rides at all.... but they are good enough to ride work daily !

As the owners are not big punters it begs the question of who put the money on. I agree 100% that it is rough to be jocked off after riding a decent race. What is worse for me is who replaced her.

What's this 'well done ELVIS' stuff - it should be 'well done NICCI'; seriously congrats to the Welch family - may she have many more.

and another winner today Frodo.... woelfen sh!t in by nearly 5 lengths... don't worry Frodo, I pass on the well wishes to her........ hopefully WE can round off a TREBLE this week for the family with a winner on Thursday... I am hoping to be on course.
