I have been involved in ownership and breeding for the past 13 years. BUT: I am a punter since the early 1970's.
About 13 years ago, since getting involved in ownership, I have learned how racing is funded.Before that I was ignorant, and to put it bluntly, couldn't care less!!
This past weekend I spoke to a few of my friends,punters only,they don't know how racing is funded, and they don't care, as long as they win. They punt to win, and that is that!!
I don't know what the big commotion is about to form a punters association. Punters punt to win and that is that. They don't care about the stakes etz.
I know I haven't cared for 25 years before becoming an owner.
Punt to win, or don't punt!! nobody is forcing you!!
