Re: Re: Stipes Reports

Agree with you Oscar. I have raised this on a previuos post I wanted to compare reports on 2 different races where the results of the objections turned out completely different. I waited so long that I decided that it was not worth waiting any longer. How do I learn more about racing when the facts are delayed.
The irony of the this is that there is a splash on Tellytrack daily that says a copy of todays stipes reports can be found at the stipes NHRA website.
Need I say more.

Re: Re: Stipes Reports

Thanks very much but the point has been lost. Is every stipes report going forward going to be posted on ABC? This is the second time that the report has been posted on ABC but not on the NHRA site. I appreciate the efforts of ABC and Mr Durant and Mr Moodley but the reports should surely appear on their own site as members of ABC are not the only people with interests in these reports.

Hi Dave,in response to the above query,i sincerely apologize for the delay in the Stipes Reports on our Website.I have confirmed with Mr Colin Hall (Racing Administration Manager) and he has advised me that going forward there should be no more delays and all information will be updated timeously.
There has been a major upgrade/maintenace on our systems over the past few weeks, hence the delays.
In future,if there is any queries re: our Website please contact Mr.Colin Hall.

Well Ive now thanks to Scotia read the report on Counter Tenor's run. I find it absolutely UNBELIEVABLE that the stipes accepted an excuse of "Hanging" as being good enough for a 30 plus length turnaround with some of the horses he beat a month before on the same track. The horses bloods were just about exactly the same before his last win and this run. He was found to have absolutely NO problems at all physically after the race. He went down to the start like a dream..as mentioned by Nico in his commentary.
He came back after the race as if he had never raced according to his trainer. He was a heavily backed favourite..and thats good enough for all to accept "hanging"?
Thank heavens I dont punt or I would be livid.

I wish all owners who had runners on this report would comment so the Stipes can see just how inaccurate (and obviously slow ) their reports are.
I cannot believe that an enquiry has not been opened as regards the run of Counter Tenor..what actually do these Stipes do to earn their salaries?

I would like to thank the gents at NHA for the feedback
Dave
COUNTER TENOR races three wide into the straight and is in front of the field travelling comfortably. Racing through the 700m mark COUNTER TENOR starts being passed by other runners and Strydom immediately starts to push and work on COUNTER TENOR whereas all the other runners are still on the bit. Racing through the 600m mark Strydom switches COUNTER TENOR to the outside of the field in order to avoid the kickback from the runners in front of him. Under a hard ride he then uses his crop on five occasions down the shoulder to encourage COUNTER TENOR to participate in the race, but the more he does so the more COUNTER TENOR compounds and fails to respond. Strydom does not persevere with his ride from the 200m mark onwards as the horse simply has nothing to come. COUNTER TENOR has indicated, on the film, that it does want to hang in from the top of the straight. Trainer Alexander was spoken to after the race, in the presence of his brother, was asked to report back should they find anything amiss with COUNTER TENOR which may have accounted for this poor performance. To date there has been no reply. Strydom reported the horse hanging in and that it would not respond to his riding efforts. Trainer Alexander also agreed that despite Strydom's efforts COUNTER TENOR failed to respond and run on.
With regard to the comments made by Sylvester regarding the horse DAMASCUS HOSTESS, it was reported by our Veterinary Surgeons, in the Stipes Report, that this horse was coughing post race. I suggest that when he obtains his veterinary degree he can then come forward and argue the matter.
