I must say I was a bit shocked by the final result.

However we are miles away from having a show like this, it was truly brilliant!

When the Yanks do something BIG they do it BIG!

From Carlos Santana, Rod Stewart, Lionel Ritchie, Brian May, etc, etc.

Well done to Simon for this fantastic concept and even the "awards" for the not so good performers, were magic and very funny.

Agree fully what a spectaculor show. Top class acts and presentation.

When the Americans decide to do something like this they know how to do it right.

Just under 100 million votes cast in 4 hours, unbelievable.

For me it was a huge shock as IMVHO i felt Adam Lambert is the best "Idol" ever to have performed in America. I see there are a few minority groups are up in arms saying the only reason Adam didn't win is because of questions over his sexuality.

This will certainally not be the last we hear of Adam as I think he could very well be the next Freddy Mercury with the voice he has.

They have 100 million votes - no problem, we on the other hand, have around 3 million votes and we somehow manage to stuff it up!!! Just an example how many miles behind everyone else we are when it comes to the entertainment industry!!!

Each of the final two contestants had three numbers that could be used for voters. This shows they expected a massive volume of votes and planned accordingly...

This all reminds me of the three words that drive me nuts. "This is Africa." As an excuse it's worse than "the dog ate my homework."

I think a betting syndicate did my guy. Adam by far the better contestant. Wait till he picks up a few doors songs and the Queen library.
