Scottsville today:

Found these previews on the singapore turf club, don`t know if they help?

Race 1:

PROPICIADA will prefer the extra ground here and will improve. TRAVEL LIGHT stayed on over 1300m after a slow start in her first run and will also do a lot better here. SCARAMOOSH has shown promise in two runs at Clairwood and could prefer this track. BYCULLA made a fair debut and improved in her second run. She has scope for further progress.

Race 2:

BEGEERA showed good improvement in her second start and will enjoy the extra ground here. FIGURINE ran her best race, of four, last time over this distance and has the best of the draw here. BOWLES ME OVER needed her last two runs and looks ready to improve a lot. FOREIGN TRADE is back from a short rest and can improve. Consider WOODLAND QUEEN for place money.

Race 3:

CHEN YIN HO has run well at this track after a rest and he will be a strong contender in this line-up. LOAD THE DICE has been placed in six of nine runs and was not far behind CHEN YIN HO last time. COUNT PIER is a gelded son of Counter Action who makes his debut. Watch for betting support. ZACHARO showed good improvement last time in his second run after a rest.

Race 4:

STORNOWAY swallowed his tongue and choked up when running poorly last time and with a tongue tie on now will improve a lot. KINGS GOLD won well last time and could follow up. BOLD APPLICATION has plenty of ability and will contest the finish if he breaks on terms which he sometimes does not. SPECTRE has been showing fair pace and looks to be on the upgrade again.

Race 5:

In an open race TIME TO TRAVEL appeals on consistency coupled with having a win and good fourth in his last two runs after a rest. MINDFUL has never finished far behind the winner and should run well again. EDWIN STREETER won well after a rest and is from an in-form stable. JUNGLE CALL is improving after a rest and should be competitive here.

Race 6:

DASH OFF won a good race last time and he has been consistent so must be respected again. CHORDAY needed his last run and will definitely improve. ZORBA won first time out and although he did not beat much of note, could be anything. TIME TO DANCE is back from a rest but has run well when fresh before. He has to be respected.

Race 7:

MDANSI was not disgraced in the Guineas last time and his previous form is really good. MIGHTY ATOM never runs a bad race and is sure to be thereabouts again when the chips are down. WHISTLE FOR JOY ran a good race after a rest last time and looks as if he is back to his best. FIRST HONOUR has not raced for three months but can feature if anywhere near his best.

Race 8:

HANDSOME BULLION has a fourth and three seconds to his credit form only four runs and looks hard to oppose here. TRES FORTE has two good runs over this distance and should be thereabouts as well. DUTY FREE has had more chances than the combined efforts of the aforementioned duo and although his form is fair he’ll battle to trouble the pair. BRUTUS MAXIMUS likes this distance.

THE 1600m M.R. Woollam and Associates MR 92 Handicap is the main event at Scottsville on Wednesday afternoon. It is a tricky affair as are most of the races but six-year-old MIGHTY ATOM is most consistent and deserves another win. He could prove the one to beat having his third run after a rest here.

Trainer Stan Elley rested the Model Man gelding from 31 January to 11 April. He had taken three successive second places and two fourths just prior to the break. Even for a gelding, that level of consistency is rare at this age.

He returned from his rest to race over 1200m and ran a cracker to finish a mere 1.35 lengths behind Summer Recess taking fourth place. That run was in his home centre at Kenilworth in Cape Town and he coughed after the race.

His next appearance was at Greyville on the KZN South coast only 17 days later indicating that the malady was of short duration.

In the Greyville race he took on a decent field over 1600m. He finished fourth again, beaten 2.10 lengths by Imperial Cossack, but had a slow start and should improve.

Mike de Kock (pictured above) sends out MDANSI who has won over this distance but pulled up short when finishing 3.75 lengths (sixth) behind Big City Life in the Guineas at Greyville on 12 May.

MDANSI has a good draw as he jumps from gate three – MIGHTY ATOM has drawn eight – and has done best when racing from up with the early speed. He will certainly give MIGHTY ATOM plenty to think about.

FIRST HONOUR has not run for 102 days. Coming back from a similar holiday previously, FIRST HONOUR showed good improvement in a 1200m race. If he is able to reproduce such an effort over his right distance here, he will make the other two pick up their hooves.

HANDSOME BULLION looks all but impossible to beat in the final race of the afternoon and punters who have not fared well early in the day could well have an opportunity to recoup losses on this son of Goldkeeper.

Can only suggest a "hottie" as a banker and that's the 9/20 shot Handsome Bullion.
Its my type of price, but will wait for it to shorten before having a punt.

lol

Not mocking Greg. Maybe he has the correct formula. Slowly slowy catch a monkey whereas we just want the 10/1 shots to win all the time

TRAINER Mike de Kock will be hoping Mdansi reproduces his KZN Guineas form in Race 7 at Scottsville on Wednesday afternoon, a MR 92 Handicap over 1600m on the inside track.

.The Australian-bred gelding showed plenty of pace when finishing a 3.75-length sixth to Big City Life in that Grade 2 race at Greyville.

Before that he had racked up three successive victories, including a win over 1400m at this track.
The Guineas was his second run after a layoff and he should be in top shape for this event. Kevin Shea gets the ride and they jump from No 3 stall.

Bernard Fayd’Herbe is not riding at this meeting and at this stage no replacement has been named on Stan Elley’s Mighty Atom. The six-year-old gelding has not paid a visit to the No 1 box since December 2007 when beating Al On The Run at Kenilworth, but has only once finished out of the frame since then.

He is overdue a victory and after a useful effort in his first outing in KZN this winter, when a 2.10-length fourth to Imperial Cossack over 1600m at Greyville, this could be his moment if Mdansi does not rise to the occasion.

Whistle For Joy had a pipe opener over 1000m at Greyville and did well to finish just 1.85-lengths behind Gaultier after a sluggish start. Basil Marcus’ runner will prefer this distance and should contest the finish. Raymond Danielson has been getting a few rides from the Marcus yard and will be aboard the five-year-old gelding.

Others with chances include First Honour, Do It Like Dane and West Coast Gold.
