Scotia before the "long" weekend.
15 years 11 months agoGood evening from a very cold, rainy and windy Pretoria, my friend has a farm and he told me it was so cold and windy this morning that he had a hen that laid the same egg three times?
Well the sport never ends and I am becoming a cricket fan with this 20/20, far better than the real game.
SA have gone favs at 28/10, India 9/2, Sri Lanka 6/1, N.Z. 7/1, Pakistan and England 9/1, West Indies 10/1 and if you want a bet on Ireland, give me a call, will try and get you 20/1.
An Irishman broke into his local bookies this week and lost 20 quid!
After last weeks "INVESTEC" Derby and Oaks, difficult to build myself up for a day at the big T, but we all have our highlights in life and what a master stroke from Bernard Kantor and his team. Sea the Stars has gone 6/1 fav for the Arc., it was a possibility to go for the St Leger and make history with a first triple crown since Nijinsky, but the Arc is the big one, and both would be rather hectic, considering Nijinsky attempted it and just got piped in the Arc. Was Piggott over confident, or was it just a race too many for Nijinsky?
Looking at the ante post markets and I see a couple of the local bookies are pricing up early on overseas races, I say well done, probably JJ has something to do with that, and wouldn't it be great if JJ lives up to expectations in the Golden Jubilee, another massive boost for SA racing.
On the subject of Ascot, it starts on Tuesday the 16th and Amour Propre still a weak fav at 9/2, with Scenic Blast 11/2 and Fleeting Spirit 6/1 for the Kings Stand Stakes.
The Queen Anne could see Gladiatorus, and the St James Mastercraftsman, the Gold Cup still has Yeats going for the four timer at 3/1, Patkai 4/1 and Geordieland 9/2.
The big day is the Sat. for most South Africans where JJ is firm at 4/1 to lift the Golden Jubilee. A full Ascot update and preview will be posted for next week, but keep checking the Forum for the latest.
On the local front plenty being discussed with regards the July, Pocket Power remains the horse they all have to beat based on the opinion on the site.
This weekend good racing from KZN, the highlight should be the Gold Challenge where Pocket Power, Our Giant and River Jetez clash, its still beyond me why we don't price up early on these events, maybe the punters should take the initiative and put up early requests on Interbet to generate a market?
Rugby, no change still 4/10 the Boks, 28/10 the Lions and 12/10 SA for a 3-0 whitewash.
Soccer Spain are 16/10, Brazil 18/10, Italy 4/1 and SA 25/1.
We expect a few overseas supporters?
Don't forget the Hollywood competition, last week and a great prize.
On the social front, just have to pace myself over the long weekend, was considering booking myself into a health farm for the detox, diet, massage, etc, etc, 20/1, or go for a steak, curry, racetrack, drink and punt 1/5.
Good punting and may your God be with you.

Indeed Scotia, looking forward to a long weekend with the highlight the Big T on Sunday. Making the most of the wife being in France !!
So what is on the agenda. Best bet is a secret but you can ASK ME if you like. With the cricket in full swing and it raining sixes for India I may need to wear my Turbin. Otherwise a spot of Fishing may be in order. Not bad for an Edukated man.

I think soup on the agenda Saturday. Will ask the catering department to arrange for Sunday. Her highness is looking well and the sheep is almost ready to nominate.
