Pirates I hope that at some point we can have interprovincials to gee up competion amongst the younger boys - Riding is a job but there is a need to get the guys competing on a higher level(sporting level) - and no the Natal guys can't be called the "sharks"

A title win for AF is the story movies are made about...the kind of feel good story the racing industry desperately needs(I'm sure Clyde could use positively)
How ironical if the NHA,who do not have the ability to dispel the negativity of racing, should cost the industry this factor.
I do not condone rules to be broken and unpunished but why?
a)target AF and not be consistent(fines instead of suspension)
b)ignore so many other NHA rules

Yeah...Andrew winning the championship will be fantastic for racing...what a feat it would be for him after all his trails and tribulations.
The merits of a jockeys ability is really about the same as an argument about the merits of which horse was the best to have come out of South Africa...why, even the top jocks could not convince one another about what horse was the best.
I have loads of respect for both Marcus brothers as jocks, Leisher, Strydom, Felix, Roberts etc because they were/are out of the top draw but no-one will be able to convince me that 2 of my absolute favourites in Andrew Fortune and the great Garth Puller lacked in the ability to compete at the same level as the afore-mentioned.

go back and look george when striker and llioyd were chasing the title and then delpech chasing the title..your comment that anton is chasing the title is laughable ..he could travel for the last 3 mths everyday and would win it hands down..please bud be realistic about this jockeys title as it is no ordinary title in the true sense of the word..as i have said before good luck to andrew for winning it but it certainly doesnt mean he is the best rider and its a poor reflection on the industry that it doesnt motivate others to try for it..

most jockeys will tell you, there are only 2 jockeys in RSA with natural talent.
much like in tennis, only 8% of tennis players are natural back handers.
They dont have to practise, or do work riding, their balance, for some unknown reason is always perfect.
Both seem to have other problems.
The one decides before the race is run, whether the horse can win, the other cause more havoc than me, and gets suspended.
Maybe it is nature's way of equalizing the odds, giving all a fair chance.
In a match race, where pride and ego counts, not money and bookmakers, I will back these 2 any day.
Private Jet, Rebel King, Warm White Nights.

Andrew is a very good horseman but to say he is the best jockey in the country is laughable for me the test of his character will be what he atchieves next year my prediction is he wont ride half the number of winners that he has this season hopefully im wrong but i think he will be a one season wonder

HH, couldn't agree with you more.... he is very talented but a flash in the pan..he runs hot 'n cold... now you see him... now you don't ..... he is his own worst enemy.... won't even hear from him next season....Kimberley has helped him BIG TIME .... I'll put a J.W.BLUE on the line HE DON'T feature next season !
