Jockey title not over yet

Before I get blown out of the water by all the "I told you so" merchants should Andrew not win the title I want to place it on record that I made statements earlier in the season that I thought he would win hands down because IMHO he is by far the best rider in the country and I still believe he can win it and hope like hell he does however he has just completed a 10 day suspension which allowed Anton to narrow the gap and is currently serving another 3 weeks which will cost him 2 Kimberley meetings and the ride on Hear The Drums in PE all things that I had not factored into my calculations and with the margin diminishing I am now hopeful but not as confident, I'm sure all neutrals will join me in wishing for him to hold on to the lead, and to all those sitting on the fence, have your say now and don't wait to have a go at the end of the season should Anton snare him on the line,if he should be beaten then it would come down to his suspensions and NOT his ability nor desire to win ....

yes titch i notice anton is trying very hard to win the jockeys title this year....open your eyes their is only one trier

I'm sure neither his desire nor ability to win are in question...when you take into consideration that he has only ridden horses that carried 57,5 plus and has effectively only ridden for 9 months of the season the fact that he is on target to ride 200 plus winners is a victory in itself and the fact that he has ridden in more than 1000 races thus far this season which is 150 more tht his closest rival in that department (MJ Byleveldt)and close to 100 a month makes him more susceptible to suspensions the fact of weather he is guilty or not is not the question but clearly,even with his weight restriction he is by far the best rider in the country imo and it would be sad if a "technicallity"should cost him the title that he so richly deserves...BTW 230 plus would have been a walk in the park over a period of 12 months..

Both jockeys are giving their all for the title...yes, the suspensions are hurting Andrew but it is true that ones needs to stick within the rules.
Interesting battle though but Anton top rider that he is, has it much easier than Manne imho...
To mount the kind of challenge with the weight limitations is fantastic and I hope the the Cape's "heavyweight" hangs on despite the suspensions to win the title.

Pirates a certain trainer got a positive and Anton had run 2nd in the race...there was an immediate enquiry as to weather he would be allotted that win in the title race and I seem to remember Anton coming down to Pmb for ONE ride (On her toes a winner for Azzie) dont be foolish bud Anton is the consummate professional and will be having a go right up till the last day of the season the fact that he takes selective rides and goes for quality rather than quantity attests to that...and only a fool would believe that he has no interest in the championship...

AB it is a lot easier to have a high % off fewer rides,if Andrew had carried his % from last season thru to this season he would be on over 260 winners (last seasons stats read 376 rides 100 winners(26%) 53 seconds 40 thirds and 63 4ths and 5ths..Anton rode in 592 races and had 136 winners (22%)

Hibbs up untill yesterday it read 1003 Rides 189 wins (19%) they have not credited him with the rides nor the win in Zim which was 5 rides for 1 win 1 2nd and 1 3rd ..
