Race 6 Scottsville an example

Fav claimed to 14/10
2nd fav shortned to 3/1

then both starts drifting
3rd fav drifts too ..

2 x Grandpa powders and a glass of water, then we stand them till the cows come home..

Probably need to start a new tread...just how crooked is this game, don't need rocket science to figure it out.

We have all kind of stats on horses form.

Why not start some stats on trainers and owners, and I don't mean the kind of stats we see about which trainer leads in stakes won, but rather more stats on the following

- number of times a trainer has won on favourites

- number of times a trainer has won on a non favourite coupling, when the favourite is one of the couplings(a number of trainers come to mind...)

- number of times a trainer has one horse for the day, with shocking form, but still wins.

- and, why do owners, trainers, and jockeys gather in one room before each race, .....just what is it that they need to discuss, after all P6 bets have been taken....something like the Lotto,

Once that all possible combinations have been taken, ....easy to figure out which combination will now pay the most.....

Go figure

Nothing wrong with race 6. I have discussed Red Tribution many times on this forum and his MR in particular. I cant remember who it was exactly, perhaps Jack Dash, but whoever it was said at the time that the horse was being entered in too many races and needed a rest and would come back and win. This is eactly what happened. No conspiracy theories as far as I am concerened. No money on Red Tribution either.

Pirates,

I see that your are from the same time period as me..the wolf power...

from 1986 to 1991, 2 jockeys and myself created hovoc each week..
Sometimes riding on the back of Derek Flynn's ventures or even outsmarting Derek and the crowd..
win or loose, we did R300k per week..Alan Levin will confirm... or terry joffe

If you check the history books, in PE during 1989/1990 there was a double P6 carryover..

This one we screwed up..
flew down with R40k, paid the jock's on the fav in main races...upfront..
played a P6 for ..maybe R8k..never put the appies in, they were on the outsiders, they could not win..
appie won the main race..
nett result..double P6 carry over..

Vaal race track...same period...
7 jockeys tipping P6's varying from R3500 to R4000 per ticket....
they never got it right in 18 months..
top jockeys...some riding overseas today...some are trainers today..

hence, I took 2 identical P6's, banker a 10/1 in race 8, field in the last.
by race 8, I went to the jockey room, handed them the 1 pick 6 ticket.
by the time i got back to the bookies, the 10/1 was 5/2.
smiley moosa commentator...
and under a vigorous ride from.....he forgot to say.. and the rest are pulling the horses...
dof these jock's...they won with the fav in the last..

Why did we do this...
well, the bookies were making the rules, we were playing by their rules...

either we all stop, or you suggest I continue where I stopped in the 1990's...
there will be no bookies left in 6 month's....

Andrewest your stories and posts are top class! I for one am convinced these jocks are still playing games with the mug punters cash.

The only odds on shot that got rolled last time who is running on Wednesday at Clairwood is Pointing East in the first race.

Lets see how the filly goes...

Where there is money, there will always be scheming..

the scheming has evolved since 1981, since I got involved with horse racing..
during the 1980's, the the bookmakers clerks,
used the security guards (walking behind the goldring bookmaker stalls),
2 way radios to speak to the starter, assistant starter, once the jockeys have gone down to the starting stalls.
These calls were to inform the jockey, already sitting in the starting stalls, to pull the horse.

today they use cellphones to call...
might as well give each jockey a cellphone which he can answer during the race..

During the 1980's, I personally drove 2 jockeys, each month to go and collect their wages for the next month.
Cash, R10,000 each they got, up front for the next month.
I know, I waited in the parking lot, in the car each month..

So, Once they drifted the 8/10 fav to 11/10, I knew, the 2 way radio call was made.
then punted the 2nd and/or 3rd fav ....with the same bookie...
min R10k, most times R20k...

of course...they knew I was playing with marked cards...but who created the rules..

Newmarket...full field...money for Roy Curling... and Roy curling alone...
All knew what that meant...
then I saw them drift the horse..
Backed Sun Dagger at 12/1..
did not stop...took R135k of sun dagger..
christie blom on sun dagger...won by 3 lenghts...

autum leaf....Derek, zoro and company where putting the life out of Junior and the rest..they never stopped punting autum leaf....

I stood behind Junior's stall, derek in the front..saw them drift the horse...knew what had happened...
each time Derek and company took R10k of autum leaf, I would say to them ...you are on the wrong horse...I would take R10k of "Devil my care" (dont read anything into the name)....
I had R120K allready, when david Abromovitz offered me another R100K to R20K.
I declined..
Result...Devil My care by 3 lenghts..

Clive Dunbar asked me to open an account at one of the bookmakers he was working at...
I did..but then the bookmaker said...deposit account..
I had R1000 cash on me, gave it to Clive...
Took an all-to-come, 5 horses....R3,4m/R1000..
Clive asked the bookmaker if the bet was ok...
Ego...could not refuse..
The 1st horse won..
The 2nd Horse won..
The 3rd horse won..

The bookmaker gave my R1000 back and said...account closed...never will he lay me a bet again...

The 4th horse...foto finish...King's consort or something like that
The 5th horse won...
