Ray Sauce a runner on Saturday

Owing to an unforeseen IT glitch, the horse Ray Sauce was omitted from the final field of the R125 000 Thukela Stakes (Listed) due to be run over 1600m at Clairwood on Saturday, 27 June, 2009.



In order not to prejudice the connections of the horse as far as stake earnings and black type status was concerned, Gold Circle decided to reinstate Ray Sauce in the field.



However, as the official race card has already been printed, no tote bets will be taken on Ray Sauce and he will be excluded from all exotic bets. His coupling with stable companion Fort Beluga will also not count for the Pick 6 and Jackpot and Fort Beluga has to be considered a stand alone runner.



Consequently, should Ray Sauce finish in any of the first four placings on Saturday, the result will stand as far as stakes paid and race status is concerned. But for tote betting purposes, Ray Sauce will be excluded from the result and the winning numbers adjusted accordingly. To avoid confusion, Ray Sauce will not carry a saddle cloth number but will retain his current draw of 4. Apprentice, Karis Teetan will ride.

Mistakes happen,respect to Gill and gold circle for admitting it..

mistakes happen and i guess GC doing best they can to rectify, but can see mass confusion in the totes if a horse with no number wins.

Almost any other owner and GC would have said 'Tough luck'. Really pathetic now
