R2.9m horse Macchiato running race 5 tomorrow..I see priced up at 4/1..lets hope hes a champ and has potential for international races..I honestly fail to see how he will even be able to win back a portion of his purchase price locally.

On the same card Wonder Lawn cost R3.3m won back R396k after 5 wins and 9 places.

oscar thats cheaper than mr c lairds horse in the same race called gallileos galaxy who cost 550 000 oz dollars..

Galileo liked to get his toe in,has about 20% 2yo winners,new approach and rip van winkle had great 2yo careers 10f-12f his optimum trip..

Who knows, Dave, but Lochlorien was about 3 l off the 2nd horse in a Gr 1 last week and represents quite a tough nut for first timers to crack. Then again the newcomers are both bred in the purple and could be up to it, but I will stick with the exposed form.
