A.B.C. the way forward.
15 years 10 months agoGood morning to you all and an update on the health activities.
I have been sticking to the gym work, and feel good, I am not sure how many kilos I lost the first week between Monday and Friday, but I would estimate 16 kilos, I only weighed myself on the Monday after having a heavy day at the big T on Sat, and I put back 15 kilos over the weekend, so net result is down a kilo, (only 32 weeks to go).
I used the bar (not the parallel one) at the gym and now a big fan of cranberry juice, I also took some home and had a Bacardi and cranberry, highly recommended, you can get tipsy and feel healthy at the same time.
O.K. lets talk about ABC and the way forward, well we have never had more traffic and July is a bumper month.
We now have a link to facebook and youtube, with the intention to further promote SA horseracing by downloading race videos and interviews, however have had no response from the local racing operators to my requests for assistance.
I feel with the new link between Phumelela and Betfair, we are in a strong position to further promote SA racing on an International stage, I have a partner investigating overseas options to further promotion and expand ABC. .
I thank all the sponsors and posters for their continued support and we are always open for ideas to supply the best possible service, links to our current SA races would be of great assistance for local and International punters.
I intend having a Gold Cup competition along the same lines of the July, which I am sure you will agree was a great success, will announce details shortly.
On the ante-post front would love to discuss the Gold Cup?
On the overseas markets:
25th July, King George has been avoided by the big stars and Conduit is the current fav.
29th July, Sussex, where Rip Van Winkle and Ghanaati should clash
1st Aug, Nassau where Rainbow View a very weak 10/1 fav!
Ebor meeting starts 18th August, now we are talking Sea the Stars in the International Stakes and Fleeting Spirit in the Nunthorpe.
12th Sept, the St Ledger looks a dull event with the big guns staying away, Sea the Stars should have had an exercise gallop and made History imvho.
4th Oct is the ARC, has the makings of a great race with Fame and Glory 4/1, Stacelita 6/1, Sariska 8/1 and Sea the Stars 10/1.
7th Nov the Breeders Cup meeting should be awesome.
Good punting and may your God be with you.

King George latest!
O'Brien duo look set to bid for King George glory
GOLDEN SWORD and Frozen Fire look set to represent trainer Aidan O'Brien in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot on July 25.
The latter, winner of the 2008 Irish Derby, was trimmed to 16-1 (from 25) for the £1m contest by Ladbrokes, who make Golden Sword, runner up in this year's Irish Derby, their 5-1 third favourite.
O'Brien, speaking on Wednesday, said: "It's looking at the moment that Golden Sword and Frozen Fire are both heading that way."
Conduit, who worked in Newmarket on Wednesday morning under the gaze of trainer Sir Michael Stoute, was also trimmed by Ladbrokes and is now 9-4 favourite (from 5-2).
The St Leger winner enjoyed a light workout when following in behind stablemate Tryst on Newmarket's Al Bahathri Polytrack gallop with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
Stoute also looked on as Tartan Bearer and Coronation Cup winner Ask worked toward the King George though a final decision on running plans has yet to be announced by the trainer.
Also out on the Newmarket gallops was Brigadier Gerard Stakes winner Cima De Triomphe, who may yet run in the King George despite the alternative option of the Arlington Million in Chicago.

Speaking purely in a personal capacity and not as a Hollywood representative, I suspect that the huge uncertainty over the Gold Cup weights caused by the nomination of Pocket Power wijl make bookies very reluctant to price up until after the final field is declared. For the same reason it is presently impossible for a punter to make an intelligent selection-unless one knows for sure what Mike Bass' intentions are!

Morning Magic, this may be the case, however my point has always been that I can get a bet on next years Oaks/Derby etc.etc, and locally I cant get a bet on next weeks event.
My suggestion is to list the fields on Interbet and let the punters speculate on an ante post market and the market will sort itself out with exchanges from punters/bookies being matched, some might be wrong and some might be right, but I am sure its better having a go on Pocket Power now, than guessing next years Derby winner?
just my opinion.

Fair enough, Dave. I guess we don't have a "bet on anything" culture yet, like what colour dress the Queen wears to Royal Ascot or which of Ballydoyle's horses Murtagh chooses to ride in the Derby!

True Magic, we have a long way to go to take a double that the Pope and Queen will be dead by Monday. lol
The Gold Cup however is on our doorstep and the build up and speculation should ignite the ante post market.

Speaking of next year's Derby, what odds O'Brien will win it with a Sadler's Wells descendant? 2/1? Or 5/1 the Derby/ Oaks double? The possibilities are endless! As far as the Gold Cup goes I'll be with Bass. Bill of Rights if PP squashes the weights, Diamond Quest if he doesn't.

Is not plausible that Pocket could run in and win this race?

I find that very unlikely. He's in the Champions Cup the weekend before.
