WILL BUSH PIRATE RUN TONIGHT ?

According to Jack Milner's article in todays Racing Express- LAST FRIDAY Bush Pirate was taken out of the race " not striding out off-fore "

What happened to the 10 day or 14 day rule that a horse may NOT run if scratched.
The only exception to this rule that I am aware of is - if transport breakdown occurs, then I believe the horse does not have this suspension.

Bush Pirate is declared a runner for TONIGHT.

Magic, care to shed any light on this topic ?

I wonder too - at 8/10 if he gets scratched it will be a healthy deduction on all bets struck

Stipes report from 10 July reads:

I pulled this report on Tuesday but in the rules it states that the suspension can be appealed against and over-ruled if the stipes and NHRA vet are in agreement

According to the rules:

Rules as per NHRA:

53.5 A HORSE which is scratched from a RACE on veterinary grounds shall be
automatically suspended from taking part in a RACE for 14 DAYS from the
date of the RACE from which it was scratched, provided that the SB may, on
its own initiative or at the request of the OWNER or TRAINER of the HORSE
affected, instruct a licensed veterinary surgeon to examine such HORSE and
in special circumstances, the SB may lift such suspension.


I am having a little bit of a problem understanding why the stipes report states 12 days and the rules state 14?!?

He might as well as stayed home.

Didn't see the race but apparently he couldn't get a run...in a 8 horse field!!!

AND 14 lengths back turning into the home straight when you main threat is rolling in front....Heard the commentator call it unlucky, just plain terrible riding imo...as I said I did not see the race just heard it so I may be totally wrong?
