Scotia mid-week.

Hope you are all well, no comment on the diet, but still going to the gym, have to carbo load in this cold weather.

Glad to say the site is still going strong, facebook looking good and youtube still working on links for local racing, have had no feedback on my attempts to promote SA racing, sad.

Some humorous posts on the site this last week and you need a bit laughter in these troubled financial times, we should all lighten up, life is too short.

The saga with the lights at the big "T" off, on, off, on, reminded me of the king of one liners, Steven Wright. "I have a light switch in my flat, no idea what it does, but every time I go past I throw the switch, after a couple of months, got a letter from a lady in Germany and it says "STOP IT"!

Here are a few more

You know how it is when you go to be the subject of a psychology experiment, and nobody else shows up, and you think maybe that's part of the experiment? I'm like that all the time.

If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happen if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?

there's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Anywhere is walking distance, if you've got the time.
If a word in the dictionary were mispelled, how would we know?
I have the worlds largest seashell collection. You may have seen it, I keep it spread out on beaches all over the world.

When I have a kid, I wanna put him in one of those strollers for twins, then run around the mall looking frantic.

If dracula can't see his reflection in the mirror, how come his hair is always so neatly combed?

I bought some powdered water yesterday. I don't know what to add.

Cross-country skiing is great if you live in a small country.

I got food poisoning today. I don't know when I'll use it.

I installed a skylight in my apartment. The people who live above me are furious!
Sorry about that, got carried away, or maybe I should be carried away?

On the soccer front the mighty Real Madrid, including Ronaldo could only manage a one goal win over Shamrock Rovers, in Ireland, the goal was scored with 3 mins to go, I would guess a few pints of the old black magic would have been consumed. Remember the highest soccer score in Ireland was Shamrock Rovers 305 and Tippererary Unt 280, both teams were playing at home after a mix up with the fixtures.

The golf was magic, just wanted Tom Watson to win and make it one of the greatest moments in sporting history?

What about Lance Armstrong, the man is a legend.

The good news is that my wee lass is coming home from London this weekend, and that Mrs S will have someone to drag through the shops, and scotia will have more time for more appropriate activities, gym, eating, drinking and gambling.

On the racing front we have the Champions Cup and the "Pocket Rocket" had to be punted to get back to winning ways.
I look forward to the Gold Cup, and we will be having a competition, details soon, the fields have been posted, I am glad to report that Hollywood have just priced up, a move in the right direction to get the ante-post markets out earlier for local racing.

Its the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth stakes on Sat, but no Mill Reef in this field, for the latest updates check the Forum, Conduit is 18/10 fav.

J.J, the Jet Plane should run next Tuesday over 7 furlongs at Glorious Goodwood in the Betfair Cup.

On future overseas markets, not much change:

29th July, Sussex, where Rip Van Winkle and Ghanaati should clash

1st Aug, Nassau where Midday is a weak 5/1 fav, Rainbow View might be worth another chance?

Ebor meeting starts 18th August, Finding the winner of the Ebor is more difficult than finding the National winner? Sea the Stars in the International Stakes and Fleeting Spirit in the Nunthorpe, both look good and STS should be PTP.

12th Sept, the St Ledger looks a dull event with the big guns staying away 8/1 the field, should have been 8/10 Sea the Stars to make history?

4th Oct is the ARC, has the makings of a great race with Fame and Glory 4/1, Stacelita 6/1, Sariska 8/1 and Sea the Stars 10/1 and Conduit 14/1 (can change after Sat?).

7th Nov the Breeders Cup meeting should be awesome.

Good punting and may your God be with you and try and be happy.

Great stuff scotia, love the 2 fillies in the Arc,but reckon they will come up a bit short? is Sea the Stars a doubtful runner? 10/1 looks great value..

J J has a great chance on tuesday and is the second highest rated horse in the race, going on the July form Main Aim should come out on top tho?
