Pre-season caning: Chelsea stars splash out £120,000 on champagne... and Prince Harry joins in the fun
Most of us wince at paying £60 for a bottle of champagne, but Chelsea captain John Terry spent £60,000 on bubbly and cocktails to help celebrate team-mate Salomon Kalou's birthday.
The Premiership team spent more than £120,000 on champagne and exclusive drinks during Kalou's 24th birthday celebrations.
While captain Terry footed half the bill, sources say he also left a £10,000 tip for staff at Mayfair bar Whisky Mist.
The rest of his team mates chipped in to help pay for the player's surprise birthday party at the exclusive bar.

The bar is a favourite with Prince Harry and sources say the prince was prevented from sitting in his usual VIP area thanks to the Chelsea celebrations.
But Harry was happy to sit elsewhere and even sent Kalou a congratulatory bottle of champagne from his own table.
Kalou and his girlfriend Najah Wakil, 26, partied at the bar until 3am, but the bash nearly failed to go ahead.
The forward was brought to Whisky Mist by Najah, but was said to be reluctant to go inside, preferring an early night.
Kalou himself picked up a £34,000 bill at the bar, while sources say Michael Essien forked out for a Mehusaleh of Dom Perignon champagne - which holds eight bottle's worth of bubbly - costing £14,000!
Other players who put their money on the table included Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba.
Let's hope the team co-operate as well on the pitch as they do in the bar when the coming season kicks off.
