Overdose owner denies reports of plans to sell
THE owner of the Hungarian-trained sprint sensation Overdose says he is determined that the horse, now worth €5 million, should continue racing in Hungarian colours.
According to the Hungarian News Agency Zoltan Mikoczy also denied press reports suggesting that the 12-times unbeaten four-year-old might be confiscated in compensation for his debts or that he would sell Overdose in order to pay them.
Mikoczy was recently released from prison after he was arrested for misleading creditors in connection with his Romanian farm. Mikoczy said his punishment waschanged to a suspended sentence, he said he had appealed against the verdict and would make every effort to clear his name.
Overdose's trainer Sandor Ribarszky has spoken of plans to move to Germany. But a solution is being soughtin order to make sure that he continues training Overdose at Alag, north of Budapest. Other options could see the horse trained in Germany or a new trainer hired from Slovakia.

Workouts fuel talk of possible Zenyatta return
USA: Breeders' Cup Classic winner Zenyatta completed another recorded workout at Hollywood Park this week to fuel speculation that her racing career may not yet be over.
In the wake of her Santa Anita triumph owners Jerry and Ann Moss stated that the unbeaten mare would be bred in 2010 and her subsequent exercises were to help her wind down from regular training.
Yet she remains at trainer John Shirreffs' stable and a third timed workout in six weeks on Wednesday has only continued to stir the rumour mill in the US, where race fans are eager to see her race again and take on the other outstanding female Rachel Alexandra, the winner of the Preakness, Woodward and Haskell Stakes.
Shirreffs told the Daily Racing Form: "That decision is Mr Moss's and he hasn't said anything other than what he said after the Breeders' Cup. I think a lot of people would like to see her run and I would also say she's accomplished enough and let her retire."
Zenyatta, who is six, won all her 14 starts and in her only race against colts in November became the first female to win the Breeders' Cup Classic. She has taken part in two retirement ceremonies at Hollywood Park and Santa Anita since that day.
Whether she races again or not, she will go head to head with Rachel Alexandra at a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 18 when both horses are finalists for the 2009 Eclipse Horse Of The Year award.

Star sprinter Overdose arrives in Germany
Hungary: Unbeaten sprint star Overdose has arrived safely in Hoppengarten, Berlin, where he has been reunited with trainer Sandor Ribarszki, who has left his native Hungary to start a new career in Germany.
'The Budapest Bullet', who has been off the race track since last April recovering from a foot injury, was scheduled to leave Hungary for Germany on January 4, but the shoe on his front left hoof got loose which led to a delay in his departure.
British blacksmith Stuart Packham, who treated Overdose's foot injury during the horse's rehabilitation at Amanda Perrett's yard in the autumn, was flown from Britain to fit a new shoe.
Overdose departed from Hungary on Monday morning and arrived in Hoppengarten on Tuesday.
"His foot was a bit sensitive after the reshoeing, but he's fine now," Ribarszki said. "We will take things very slowly with him and do it step by step."
Owner Zoltan Mikoczy said that Overdose remaining in Germany would depend on whether Ribarszki obtains a licence to train the horse in the country.
"We want Sandor to prepare Overdose for his races. But whether or not Overdose stays in Germany depends on whether Ribarszki is able to train him there."
In earlier interviews, Mikoczy confirmed that, once fully fit, Overdose would follow the same programme as was planned before injury intervened last year, taking in the top Group 1 sprints in Britain and Europe.

Goldikova could start off 2010 at Royal Ascot
France: Goldikova, who has returned in "very good shape" to Freddie Head's stable after a winter break, may be aimed at Royal Ascot at the start of her 2010 campaign.
However, wherever the five-year-old runs in the early part of the year, all roads eventually lead to Churchill Downs as she will be trained specifically for her attempt at an unprecedented hat-trick at the Breeders' Cup, held this year in Kentucky on November 6 after two seasons at Santa Anita.
Goldikova, who has spent the winter at the Wertheimer Brothers' Haras de Saint-Leonard in Normandy, arrived back at Head's Chantilly yard on Tuesday morning.
"Goldikova left the farm this morning," reported the Wertheimers' racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau.
"She has had a nice break of three months and we find her in very good shape - Goldie appeared to enjoy herself down at the farm and liked the snow."
Seven times a Group 1 winner, the outstanding daughter of Anabaa could easily challenge the great Miesque's European record of ten top-level victories since the Pattern was introduced in 1971.
Bureau added: "The main objective this season is to win a third Breeders' Cup Mile and we don't know where she will start this season although it could be in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.
"There aren't many options in the early part of the year but in the summer we have the Falmouth Stakes, the Rothschild and Jacques Le Marois at Deauville before the Breeders' Cup but it is too early to speak about any definite plans."
After chasing the brilliant Zarkava in the French Classics in 2008, Goldikova made headlines of her own with three Group/Grade 1s winsculminating in her first victory in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
She added four more top-level wins to her tally last year, among them a memorable second success at the Breeders' Cup.
