Let me add my 10 cents worth.
Who are the people who schedule these races? (I honestly don't know)
Find them and try to collectively speak to them. Try positive re inforcement first (Offer them a bottle of JWB), then if this don't work offer to massage his wifes feet and make them dinner for a week. It is always good to find out what their pay points are.
If all else fails put them down in a chair in a small room and explain a few things to them. (Oh make sure there are no windows or mirrors in this small room)
Explain to them how if they don't rethink their scheduling prowess you are going to get the tokkolosh delivered to their bedroom. If this fails then try to make them aware that nobody can swim with cement boots around their feet.
Once they start crying a little and ask for forgiveness thats when you hit them with the Duzi............
"Cowboys don't cry my brother....get out there and allow horses to run or next time there will be no little room.....only BIG pain!"
Think this approach would work??

Well Ive now read the rules in depth.
It absolutely boggles my small little brain "why" they eliminate horses around the bend from the outside draw inwards BUT up the straight they eliminate horses drawn from the inside outwards
Why whats the reason where does it come from who invented it???
As Scotia says "whats the use of trying to get new owners into the game when the current owners already have issues"
Anyway in any good business its word of mouth from existing customers that bring in new customers..makes one wonder why no new owners are coming into this game??

Greg I think that's a great idea; how about a topic for U be the Judge (long time since we saw one, or am I wrong) - Are eleminations being handled properly followed by another show - Is the Racing Program satisfactory?
Alternatively these could be topics addressed in any show - imo this holds much more value than the continuous back slapping we see most of the time. It would help if they can show a typical example or case study on how the elimination process works and give some background as to the factors taken into account when constructing the program.

We were eliminated Clairwood 9 Sept Race 1. Drawn 15 initially, but after scratchings came in ok. Our horse is a 4 year old, his second start. First time out he ran about 8th, it was an outing to see what it was all about.
So now the hunt for the next race and then getting a draw, continues

There is a guy who walks around the corridors at turfontein carrying the race programme book wherever he goes..and he says the race programmes are just fine!
Ive yet to see his name on a horse though.

I challenge anyone with half a mind to look at the program in Gauteng for September and October and tell me that it is 'just fine'.
