BEE bookmakers licenses available CAPE..?????
15 years 11 months ago
all BEE candidates can apply for BOOKMAKERS LICENSES in the WESTERN CAPE..????
IS it true???
FREE...????
When will the other provinces make these BEE licenses available...
How do I know..
Had a call from a gentleman that want to offer me a share..
me being an ex bookmaker (with a full winning record), he needs my input/skills
not that I consider it as skill, but rather connections...

the last time I applied..
the On-course bookmakers and GOBA got the Gambling board to drag their feet..
after 18 months, Hannes & Friends had to put my license on the agenda........
at the lunch after the meeting, after a few good ones..they admitted it......
no hard feelings...
Then, to top it all, Bruce came to audit my books 4 times in the first month.
With full day turnovers of > R4k and < R20k.
I did only cash.
Even to the oncourse bookmakers.
SO, I got the message...loud and clear..
To, me..not a good investment..
risk vs return
no cash money in the bookmaking industry..
credit (either bank O/D or postdated cheq) going around and around...and around..and again..
bookmaking is a good business when you are..
related to a trainer...
grew up up a jockey....
wash money.............
then a business model does not matter.
