oscar the weights of ALL horses should be published/read out for punters and owners alike - this info is simple to collect and should be standard practice in all centres - if you have ever followed boxing you will know how NB this is -I cannot fathom why this is not something that the jockey club uses to see if horses are being sent out unfit(the biggest cause of injury to horses in my opinion)

The country that does the best job in my own prsonal experience in France. Their coverage is beautiful, complete and thoughtful.

Agree coverage second to non, however I donot like the para mutual only approach, but have heard will change soon and the objection rules, I am sure the same as the States?
Prefer UK and SA way of objecting to a race.

Dave in the UK you need to Jump on the back of the horses like the APACHE`s used to do to John Wayne and audey Murphy scalp him, brand him and tweet his nipples before being Disqualified..

RUK has gone downhill since me and my 2 mates stopped doing the sa stuff. Now there is no real controversy and opinion voiced. Everyone is "nice as pie" tipping the fav most of the time and not rocking the boat EVER.

ATR for all is criticts at least has a bloke called matt chapman that has often spoken the truth "albeit" from the pocket and has had his knuckles rapped for it BUT i loved it

Hibs

Yeahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

yes he is very enthusiastic, but i like that. I also like it when people PUT their own money where thsier mouth is. And i LOVE an armchair jockey BIG time , Why cant we say "what a kak ride"

Infact some bafoon here in the UK while watching RUK heard me say that Karl's nickname in JHB was kak, next thing i know i got agnets from sa and tex calling the station promising LIBEL. I spoke to rob (cant rememebr his surname) and told him it was/is my opinion BUT that also if the case went to trial in JHB then i could call at least 2376 witnesses that would testify in court that thats what we ALL CALLED him in Gauteng.

Nothing came of it except for a pure hatred for myself by the 2 brothers...

But my point is we got 2 complaints that day but used to get 20 emails a day saying how the SA boys were refreshing in the sense that we said it like it was/appeared.

and as for channel 4

well most of the jocks (i have spoken to many here) would rather sometimes NOT WIN a race as they are sure to be confronted by derek (i put NOTHING into racing Thompson ) or Alice (i dont BELIEVE in betting plunket) or Emma (do i need this £350) spencer. They shudder at having to put up with incoherent unrelated stupid questions afetr winning races. So please beleive me that the actuall interviewers are on par with the poor performances mentioned from sa.

The "problem" seems universal, its who you know not what you know. So if you dont rock the boat and you lick enough arse you keep in with the powers that be.

In a perfect world racing channels should be totally independent and certainly not owned by the racing operators. By the way Scotia, I think France is considering the introduction of fixed odds betting on sports, not racing. They have one of the best racing products on the planet and frankly are a shining example of the joys of a Tote monopoly. Why would they even consider f¥cking up a winning formula?
