What would be a coup is if Phumelela/GC are able to lure Trevor Denman from his perch at Santa Anita to come and call the International race day at the Big T!!!
(Maybe Eric and Trevor calling a card at CLairwood......Would that not bring people to the course????)

I was thinking lets do all commentaries in a black language in the spirit of Reconcilliation. Know Hanif can assist.

sylvester:
In most countries that I know where there are indigenous communities, there are mostly two other indigenous languages, mostly unofficial.
here, in RSA, we have 11 languages, which is some sort of a record!
But then, which language? For instance, today at Clairwood, Bulana's horse is Big Light, which would translate into Umkulu Mlilo(in IsiZulu)- should it win, do we look forward to a braai with Nkosi Roy (Lord Roy)? or, it loses, then take the Banoi (Jet Plane)?
Or, do we need Extra Time (Tata IsiKathi)?
Or, one commentator calling the race in ALL LANGUAGES simultaneously (or else we'll get objections, accusations of ethnicism, racism, favouritism, f.. u ''ism...!!!)
By the time s/he's even into the 3rd language, the race will definitlely be over! Then? Commentary review?
Heck, on the other hand, what about having only black commentators with 11 races carded to cater for all the languages?
Might have to advise Mick Goss to buy sufficient stocks of black shoe polish (rather Nugget, not the Kiwis, they gave the Proteas a hard time!) to handle the isiZulu one!
BTW, that would be a WEE (white ee!), a white doing a commentary in a black lingo.
No more BEE's in the bonnet; a WEE on the TellyTrack!

Eric a very nice bloke, used to watch a lot of the UK footie at the pub with him, he's a big Leeds Utd fan, which can't have been much fun in recent times!
