Velka Pardubicka Steeplechase 2019

Runs today in the Czech Republic. A race renowned for its quirky obstacles and a route that takes in the turf track at Pardubice racecourse and surrounding ploughed fields.
David Pipe (Grand National winner Comply Or Die) has a runner - Rathlin Rose, and James Best rides. "It was three days to get there and he's travelled over well and he seems in good form. He jumps well ...".
Rathlin Rose will face 20 rivals in the 129th running of a race first staged in 1874, with last year's winner Tzigane Du Berlais back to try again.
1640 SAf time.

Rathlin Rose winning at Sandown ridden by a jockey with a prosthetic leg Feb 2019.

Captain Guy Disney lost his lower right leg after being injured when a rocket-propelled grenade hit his vehicle, while serving with the Light Dragoons in Afghanistan in July 2009.

There was no joy for British connections in the 129th running of the Velka Pardubicka on Sunday as Theophilos got up to land the spoils, with Rathlin Rose finishing a gallant sixth after tiring late on up the home straight.
