calling maragret..is delivery coloured?

Margaret:
this is what you stated: "that problems raised on the forum would be investigated, addressed and that she would report back weekly or sooner."
It's over 3 years since I first requested that TellyTrack make its service available on EasyWatch (since the undertaking during corporatisation was 'to take racing to the mass').
Besides you copying an e-mail to Andew, I have not heard again from anyone.
Do you people really take us for a piece of sh..?
Or,do you go by status, colour, connection, social group?
Could Phumelela not have appointed someone besides you, with intricate knowledge of the game, experience and qualification (and genuine regard for all)- black, white or brown?
At the least, you could have contacted me directly. Understood, not in the right (white) groove!!!!
You can take exception because I do for your professional investigation and addressing of the problem so speedily: no resolution..ever!

Hi Alcaponee:
1. Some years back, TellyTrack offered subscribers a lifetime viewing on Tellytrack by paying a once-off fee. I filled in the form and recd a sim card. The reception was there (without having to subscribe tyo M-Net).
2. After a few years, the service went off (I could not test as I did not have dish any longer). When I resumed, no reception- the decoder would not read the sim card!
3. I wrote to Tellytrack a good few times- to date, nobody has ever responded
4.When Margaret came onto ABC, I reminded her and requested that Tellytrack be made available on the EasyView, which is for middle and lower income viewers.
During the corporatisation, much heavy weather (and solemn promises) was made of providing all aspects of hoirseracing to the mass(herein, they specifically mentioned the 'previously disadvantaged', not me!).
I have recorded the minutes (and meetings) wherein such undertakings were made.
It is therefore shocking to me that neither Margaret nor the Chairman of RA (Mr Wainstein) has any idea of the Memorandun of Understanding, know of it, or respect the contents thereof.
That reflects poorly on the industry that was party to corporatisation. Should the Memorandum be consigned to File 13, then Province will be forced (through the Courts, with the assistance with people like Julius Malema), to honour the undertakings.
Finally, to place virtual parvenus in a position as PR of Phumelela with 'titles', is an indication of their professionalism...rather, extent of capitalism; profits and 'comrades' before delivery!
Any different to the ANC?

sounds like lifetime sex at the FORD ESCORT AGENCY...
once-off fee...sounds like they had you.....
there were the lifetime gym contracts too..then they changed the GYM's name..
while we on it..let me make you smile..
Years back..
Gym in the complex BOULDERS in MIDRAND..same place where the bookies could borrow money from the family..and the jock's collected their months wages..up front..I know..I took them there..
but the complex was small still....no VODACOM accross the street yet...
So..the guys were selling 24 month gym contracts at R98 pm...
my niece were part of the winning sales team..won a trip to...
sold so many contracts..stunned the rest of the group...
reality check..
taxi rank was right there..
at R3 per day..from the shack to the taxi rank..to the gym..hot water..soap..toilet..off to work...
at night..to the gym..shower..hot water..steam bath..looked like a E40 taxi inside when you opened the door..back on the taxi..back to the shack..
the showers..3 or 4 in the shower...
nobody used the pool or the gym..
problem to management..
22 months later..management forgot about the problem..call centre called everyone to renew the contracts...
then the solution came..
VODACOM built accross the road...
lets move the GYM...well the taxi rank moved to..
so my mate..that sim card (which you have lost by now)..that offered the free sex for a lifetime...well they forgot to tell you..it's an ESCORT AGENCY...a FORD ESCORT AGENCY...
let go..
we will win the war..give them this battle..

Umlilo - I was hoping for your original letter to them to be pasted on this site purely to be able read and check on the tone of the request. I for one have had recent dealings with Margaret on issues that I have had of late, and no they are not of a general "my ticket was cancelled nature" but more of a technical one, and have received responses immediately. I focused on the tone of my request and approached the correspondence in a way that I would wish to be dealt with should one of my clients have an issue.
I have been involved withe service industry for many years, first in hospitality and now in insurance. My wife has been in hospitality all of her working life. Both very difficult industries to be involved in due purely to its nature. You may question the relevance of what we do in relation to this thread. Well it is simple. While we strive for greater service in this country, the consumer needs to also show some respect for the providers of service.
I give you examples:
1. A women bursts into tears because her meal is to big and causes a scene for all to see.
2. A customer who was fighting in the foyer was asked to leave by my wife. This prat turns around to my wife and tells her: "I will f..ng drop you"
3. A women pushed my wife (8 months pregnant) because she could not get a table
4. I have been told what snakes we all are in the insurance industry, followed by "make a plan with my claim bru."
The list goes on. We all have a right to complain, but at the same time we need to treat people with a certain level of respect and dignity. I am not implying that you did not approach this topic with dignity I am just questioning the tone and or agenda.
We run the very real risk of shutting the only door we have with P because of the way we posters deal with things. It almost feels to me as if we want to force them in to silence by being overly critical on these public forums so that we can have a go at them with absolutely zero response from them, therefore justifying our rationale to the world. I often question whether we approach issues with non racing companies in the manner that we do with the racing companies. I know I am not perfect neither is the company that I work for, in fact there is no perfect company but we can strive for perfection or are we posters perfect business operators.
I am quite surprised by this post from you as previously you have awakened me to some interesting topics as far as race relations go. I for one would be more than willing to join any conference or meeting as previously proposed by you, to be a part of or a delegate on race relations talks. I am, after all as AW would put it, from the Huntley generation. The truth of the Huntley generation though is that we are waiting in the wings and will be the drivers of the next economy. We need to engage in a rational an responsible manner. Which works better:
1. Walk in with an AK47 and say to all present -"Now we engage on issues"
or
2. Follow in the footsteps of a our president with a warmth an openness and invite people to engage in an open and warm manner.
The country is filled with the "parvenus". I am not sure whether this is true for Margaret or not, but CRM is CRM no matter which company you are with. Directors in SA can sit on multiple boards without having a clue what the companies actually do without a problem. From what I have garnered from my dealings with Margaret, there are strong efforts being made to improve customer relations with the company. P, I am sure, would have the ability to check on my Tabgold account and see that I am not a major contributor to the industry, but no effort has been spared by them to set my mind at ease on the issue that I raised with them. The results are not final yet, but the wheel is in motion.
I have the greatest respect for you and hope that you do no take offence to this post, but would ask that you re raise your concern with them. You may be pleasantly surprised.

great stuff! how do we win the war when they (and the ref) don't enter the ring? I did mention a SIN-CARD (access to Ford Escort Agency)!
alcaponee:
with due respect for your points, my correspondences to TellyTrack go back many years. Lost most of the correspondence when my PC crashed.
as for tone/agenda, i have also had numerous dealings with officials from TAB, TeleBet, NHA, and others. I can honestly state that most of them also have that respect and concern by treating you as such.
With Tellytrack, no response whatsoever!
My point is not so much myself, it is the undertaking of promoting horseracing to the mass! When I had Tellytrack, an elderly family member (ducking from his wife and disliking being in the tote), would come over to my place, watch the races live, and place his bets on TeleBet. I don't subscribe to M-Net as the madam only watches Al-Jazeera & the soapies at 5pm; so, Easyview (at circa R220 pa) is worth my while.
Hereunder is my email to Margaret:
"Hi Margaret!
I trust that you can have it done!
I have contacted both Tellytrack and DSTV regading making Channel 232 available on easyview.
DSTV (MNet) say it's up to Tellytrack.
No response from Tellytrack.
I must point out that easyview is a selected bouquet aimed specifically at snr citizens and the lower income group with access to DSTV.
Previously, I had paid a once-off to Tellytrack. Without notice, it's been withdrawn and I am sitting with a dud sin-card.

As I understand things Tellytrack has its own set of management. I am sure that the purse strings are controlled by P and therefore P has sway, but who should be responding to this particular complaint P or TellyTrack?
Withdrawal without notification is definitely a problem though.

Boys
The other BIG sin is that owners overseas CANNOT get pictures of their horses running unless forking out $500 per month to these thieving bastards.
So we can go to our local ladbrokes to watch and hope it does not clash with a local race and now we can watch on betfair but limited pictures.
So Marg,
seeing as i am banned on the other site i ask the question here.Could you please inform me WHY patrons of horses in sa that live abroad are treated like this?

easy:
during the corporatisation negotiations (I call it hijacking!), we were shown betting cubilces in Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, etc and told that our entity will better that.
At a conference at Sun City, we were told that the 'event' will be broadcast even better with a greater coverage, the 'experience' will be even vast & the best thing for horseracing! In Hong Kong, 20% of profits were channelled to social upliftment- not into shereholders' pockets!
So, were Province and the Gauteng Gambling Board taken for a ride? Were they idiots to have agreed to reduce the tax rate to virtually zilch?
Well, some senior reps from the industry referred to the GGB then, as a bunch of idiots...now true?
