Any Full-Time Punters out there?

Being a quite 'young' novice punter, I was wondering if there are any full time punters out there i.e makes a living off punting. Is this possible or is it a myth? your comments appreciated.

I assure you that there are,but it's the wrong country to be doing it in.If that is your goal,move to England,no tax on winnings,Bf is legal and the markets are big.SA markets are pathetic.

It`s possible and many do it,but many drawbacks,banks wont look at you when you need to borrow for property,etc..If you ever try to get back to work employers wont look at you..

A lot more work involved than you think and why not just keep your job and if you can earn extra from gambling so be it..

Would be interesting to know e.g to make around 20k a month, how much your betting bank should be generally, taking into account the many many varying factors of horse racing

Its not only possible its happening every signle day. The one thing is most people think its easy when infact its a full time job. I did it for nearly 18 months BUT the returns were lower than i could/do make from my real business so myself and my partners curtailed the punting. We turned over well over £300k per month mostly trading and arbing BUT those oppurtunities are less now days (too many people doing this)

If you want to earn £100-£200 per day its a simple thing really, all you need is a betfair acc forget horses and focus on LIVE markets tennis/cricket and football.
We were 5 guys so £200 per day was actually £20 per day per man after expenses etc so not viable.

I have the software and prgrammes we developed and bought and will use it in my latter years for a bit of fun, for now though my business makes me a bit more than that per day so ill stick to that...

sports trading and betting is the best way to do this as a full time job.

If you want to make money just from racing then you need to buy a book called

"enemy number 1 ! the story of Patrick Veitch banned from every bookmaker in the UK. for him to win over 8 million from them he needed a team of well over 50 people

So what you are telling me Easy, is that if you should pull it off, you would get banned from punting? similar to the casino's ?

What i am telling you is you will be banned by bookmakers , Betfair will fly you all over the world while you keep winning and paying 2% comm. The operative word in both cases is YOU. To continue to collect from bookmakers you will need an infrastructure in place to get the bets on for you.

A small example when we were doing it i could with our team get £15 000 on any event bet without raising a question.

Patrick Veitch could get £150 000 his team were/are far greater.

With betfair no need for a team only YOU but this does limit your bet types as mostly you will be backing or laying 1 possible result.
If you want to use both as we did then you need a team
25 mobile fones (cheap £5 each plus £10 top up)
Ladbrokes go 11/10 you back it all over the UK @ 11/10
Betfair you lay it @ evens
