Easy: International Owners

Hi Easy. For people to watch South African racing overseas they do pay $600 a month for the service. The subscription then gets them Racing International and clean feed of South African racing. The system was originally designed for International Businesses such as Bookmakers, but we do have a few private subscribers.

Hello Margaret, is it possible you could find out the cost and implications to have Racing International at home is SA?

Margeret

Sorry i dont want to get into rubbish talk with you but to me that is nothing short of THEFT.

1:To train a horse in SA costs about R5k per month , you are asking me for the same ammount to watch MY own horse run. A horse that indirectly provides Phumelela income.
2: I am not people, Barry Irwin is not people, Mr Muir is not people we all in small quantities and large invet in SA horseracing
3: Looking at those figures and adding them to my current training costs makes owning a horse in SA and watching him/them run = to about R12 000 per month. As a human being and someone that likes to talk and as a friend would you advise me to sell out in sa and for the same monthly ammount invest in 50% of a horse over here 15 minutes from my house where i can go and see him/her train and run?
4: why are people that invest in the game treated like rubbish?
5: Would you recomend a strike by every owner in SA to sort phumelela out?
6: If you were in my shoes (after taking your off) what would you do.

Thank you

Was this little insignificant titbit mentioned at the recent South African day at Newmarket, an event that was held to 'attract overseas owners' to SA racing?

Well stated, about time.

Our locals do not have the balls to face up to Phumelela besides squealing!

Yes, not only owners, but punters in SA are treated as rubbish.

Once there is a regime change in this country, the black politicians with their fingers in Phumelela, etc will be sorted out. Only then will the industry belong to the mass by genuinely reverting to a Section 21; owners, breeders, punters, etc.

I can promise you, nobody will eat your horse (unless the Chinese take over)!

You must be seeing on TV...it's started!!!

Thankfully right now www.youbet.com is showing SAF racing. If they go away, it will not be good for Team Valor. I did speak with a fellow in SAF this morning that told me some seriously impressive broadband equipment has arrived and that it will aid Team Valor and others in being able to get Tellytrack outside of the country.

BArry,

Whatever help you need from me (whatever I can do) I'm willing to do.

I agree that youbet is doing a great job but still I cannot see the horses move too well due to the poor bandwidth available.

I have a Phumelela contact in Boston. He is the agent who promotes UK and SAf racing to the American public, name of Scott Finlay. Have you heard of him?

I know there is a sattelite service that can be bought from the West Coast but what the charge is I don't know......$600a month????

Madness I say madness!!!

Unless I'm mistaken all SA races are available on Betfair for free. I used to watch the feed when I lived in the UK. Obviously the $600 subscription is a rip off deluxe but for the moment surely Betfair should suffice?

Us folk living in America are not able to access betfair due to the country's laws against online gambling.

Still I want to be able to have a channel I can watch and Tivo if I wanted to. Surely if I'm to invest into SA horseracing there should be a service where we can get these races, and not for $600 a month.

I feel sorry for the likes of Team Valor who literally spend millions in SA and still they cannot get a service that would allow then access to SA horseracing....

It really boggles the mind quite frankly

Sasky

betfair suffices for me as i work from home and have a pretty good setup so thats not problem. My partner though who's name the horses run in and who LOVES them all to bits can not watch them at her office. So it would be nice to have a system that i cpould record for her to watch when she gets home.
