Watch King Fernando on the canter past tonight, he gives new meaning to the word impressive. This one is going places and must be followed with every run. Track is heavy so they're going to be swimming home tonight by the 7th race (if the meeting lasts that long) so the 'good thing' label cannot be applied. He also may not act in the mud and is likely to be better suited to a track like Clairwood with the long run in. Last time out he was being chased by the jock a long way out at the back of the field but only had 5 to get past and wasn't too far off turning for home so ended up doing it easy. Tonight a different story; a stronger field with twice as many runners so he's going to need to hold his position early from a good draw to have a fair chance in the poor conditions. My money will be down in support of what I say.. assuming that the bookies can come to the party with at least 5/2.
