So what Rating do they give Zenyatta?

For last nights run?

Looked a great run and definately the best of her career,

Twice over is a consistent horse rated 119,Gio ponti has a rating of 120 or so on the racing post. Zenyatta was rated 124 before the race so has she run to about her old rating?

Beat a couple of turf experts with ratings of 120 a couple of lengths, the whole point of this post is,although i think Sea the Stars is a champion does anybody think that the panel that does the ratings just forget about the American horses?


On last nights run you couldn`t rate Zenyatta much more than 125-126,Know where near the rating that they have the top Europeans on..

Maybe it was just a poor race?

On a line through RVW....Who obviously ran below best but is about the most reliable form horse from the Europeans, Zenyatta should be rated only a very few points shorter than STS....

I'm going with a rating of 132

So for me in one year I have seen the greatest colt in my life and now I think I have seen the greatest filly/mare of my lifetime!!!

How are we going to top this year is what I want to know

Goldikova is a better filly imo

And Rachel might be better than them both, but who really knows? As far as Zenyatta goes, remember the truism that the hardest horse to rate is a horse that has not been beaten.

With all these fantastic horses comes both fantastic highs and also the lows of not ever seeing them compete against one another!!!

Imagine a race on pro ride between Rachel, Zenyatta and STS. (I know it will never happen but that would be worth flying half way around the world for)

Rachel Alexandra (129) - Dirt

Did rachel not beat summer bird something silly like 12l? a couple of runs ago,surely you can`t rate Zenyatta higher than rachel?

Checking back I can't see any race where they both ran in. The preakness did not feature Summer Bird. He won the Belmont and and the the gold cup and one other race.
Summer Bird and Rachel met in the Haskell Invitational where SB ran second I think by a legnth or so to RA.

So I don't believe there is THAT big a difference between sUmmer Bird and RA. (Obviously RA being superior)

At worst I can rate RA and Zenyatta on a par but after seeing what she did to the field yesterday I have to think that she is slightly better than RA.

Summerbird was 6l back in second in the haskel just looked 12l..lol

For me Zenyatta will murder Rachel...

Timeform still believe Goldikova and not Zenyatta is the world's best older horse.

Zenyatta produced an astonishing last-to-first performance to become the first female to win the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita on Saturday night.

But just a couple of hours earlier French filly Goldikova had displayed similar brilliance to win the Mile for the second consecutive year.

And the Halifax form gurus believe Freddie Head's brilliant charge still has the call at the top of the rankings.

They have Goldikova on 132, just a single pound ahead of Classic heroine Zenyatta (131) and a further pound ahead of Turf winner Conduit (130).

Kieran Packman, Timeform's Communications Manager, said: "Goldikova stood out on ratings prior to Saturday and didn't need to run to her best to become the fourth horse to complete a double in the Mile. Her stand-out effort of the year remains her Jacques Le Marois romp in August.

"Zenyatta undoubtedly won in very impressive fashion to post a career-best figure of 131, with Twice Over, who fared best of the European challenge, himself running to a career-high of 127 in third."

Goldikova is 8lb behind Timeform's current leading performer of 2009, six-time Group 1 winner Sea The Stars (140). Rachel Alexandra, the other contender for First Lady of American racing, is rated on 129.
