It's a sad human being that would get a kick out of that!

Why else would he drift the horses..
like you explained before, it makes more sense to shorten the horses for the deduction factor..

its not the drifting that alarms me.
its the knowing a day before the time that the horses will be scratched.
before the owners know that his horse will be scrathed.

I am always willing to learn but I also get confused easily....Maxibet stated,on another thread,that Big City Life went into the july with an athletic ability of 25(had feature successes under the belt already)....SO......
Phunyuka and Bambelela both have only 4% less Athletic ability than BCL going into the July and Nico will be delighted to hear that Water Nymph,at this stage of her career,has an Athletic Ability only 8% less than BCL on July day.

personally i say that looking at atletic ability does not work.
its the same as looking at speed, or MR or SR in isolation.
then your argument above becomes true, and a distorted perspective is created.

atletic ability would be step 1..and if atletic ability not the chosen criteria, use MR or SR or whatever were used to create the patterns that will be used to do the comparisons against..apples with apples..

step 2 would be to add the betting
step 3 to sort the results in decending sequence
step 4 to compare with existing patterns
step 5 to make a selection
step 6 to add the human element, ie going, draw, trainer in form, horse striding,sweating..etc
