Bookies are still sleeping, but does anybody fancy anything strong today?

Summer tune running over 1000m,too sharp?

Capital steps back on track?

Muzi always gets an early winner..

nope no bets dont even watch the results anymore. PE included.

Limit my bets to Durban/JHB and CPT.

Dunno how a person can study all the cards including overseas. Just to much time involved.

A mug of coffee and a couple of hours a day is all it takes Sly..

MEL KAPLAN - SINCE David Rahilly has been granted a trainers’ license he has done well to keep stake cheques rolling in for his owners.

Eight-year-old E-Fuel ran a good race at Scottsville last time out and looks to be back in form. He could give local six-year-old In Awe a tough time in Race 4, a Pinnacle Plate over 1600m at Flamingo Park on Monday.

A winner of nine of 41 career starts, E-Fuel is not as consistent as he was a few years ago but he definitely still has it in him to win races. The gentler sand track at Flamingo Park could be just what he needs to get his aging joints moving smoothly again now that he has shown improvement again.

One cannot overlook the fact that In Awe finished 2.75 lengths ahead of him in the Racing Association Mile at this track on 31 August. E-Fuel is only 0.5kg better off and In Awe has won another race since. However, E-Fuel was not at his best that afternoon, while In Awe has held form for a long time considering he is also no spring chicken aged six.

In Awe has won five of 10 course-and-distance starts and will be the one to beat. For Pick 6 permutations he will have to be included, especially because he comes into the race with a Peter Miller entourage that comprises five stable companions.

With the possible exception of recently formless Shergars Quest, any of them could spring a surprise if they run to their best form, giving punters a sound back-up for exotic bets.

San Sebastian Bay tries 1200m again but is in good form at present and could offer good value in Race 7.
