Thanks for the memories 2009

Thought it would be good to have a 2009 Racing review thread?
Whats been your favourite moment?
Best performance?
Who`s the racehorse of 2009?
Biggest Sport?
Agony and ecstacy?
Horse to follow 2010?

I`ll get things started..
Has to be Pocket Power winning his third Queens Plate and J&B Met double.
Our Giant winning the Mercury Sprint.
Pocket Power..
Lucky and connections sending J J to take on the best in Europe.
Eruption.

Sounds good to me. Here is my 5 cents worth:
1) RAD's enthusiasm and happiness when he scored a double at Fairview a month or two ago!
2) Pocket winning the 2009 J&B Met. (We got married on the 30th and enjoyed the 31st together as husband and wife at the races watching my favourite horse!!)
3) Pocket Power
4) Justin Snaith sending Dancers Daughter to Joburg to take on the best there!
5) Croc valley winning her debut and getting beat in the fillies guineas
6) Pierre Jourdan

I may have misread, but I know Hibernia is in Scotland but all his choices was about SAf.....Perhaps it should only be kept to SAf achievements for now?
Just a though

1) Leading in Gilmore Girl after her win at Clairwood on the 15th February.
2) Mine That Bird coming from a distance to win the Kentucky Derby comfortably and the amazement in the Commentator's voice when he realized it was Mine That Bird.
3) Pocket Power (True Champion)
4) RAD
5) Watching Pocket Power win the Queen's Plate / Met double again but being beaten by the pace in the July.
Best Moment in Sport: Usain Bolt smashing both 100 and 200 meter world records in the World Champs.

1. Everytime I could shout for joy as I had a winning ticket.
2. Pocket Power winning the Met for the 3rd time.
3. Big City Life.
4. Radetzsky/Andrewest
5. Having the first 3 horses in the quartet in the July and not the fourth horse, Thundering Jet (Pocket Power just finished 5th). Would have picked up at least R10k for my R20.

Not sure I can answer all these, but let's have a go
Favourite moment(s).....seeing the joy on my kids' faces leading in Gap Year after her hat-trick on 11 July....and then aquiring a small share in two smashing 2 yr old fillies from Wilgerbosdrift at the National 2yr old sale
Agony... watching Iryshsa refusing to jump, on two occasions losing about 15 lengths
Best horse......I think Sea the Stars
Best sport.....not sure, but the Boks winning the tri-nations comes close
Horses to follow 2010....those 2 fillies from Wilgerbosdrift!
