hibernia, they've got insurance if the jock spends any amount of time out of race riding. The better the jock the more he / she gets paid while on injury, as opposed to a lesser jock. M.J. must be off now for at least 2 years.

Inquiry – Jockey Anton Marcus


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at its offices in Johannesburg on 23 December 2009 Jockey Anton Marcus was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that when riding FLYING TRISTRAM (AUS), he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ZEBULON, ridden by Jockey S Mtshali, who was racing on his inside, at the top of the straight in Race 9 run at the Turffontein Racecourse on 20 December 2009.

Mr Marcus pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Mr Marcus guilty and imposed a suspension from riding in races for a period of two weeks.

Mr Marcus has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.

Interference or reckless riding,sure if the roles had been reversed Slyvester would have got longer..
