Sabre, there was a thread here not too long ago debating the merits of Captain Al vs Jet Master; it seems they are now both being shown up by Silvano - who in your opinion is the best VALUE FOR MONEY sire around at the moment?

That's probably better answered by someone who actually breeds horses, I guess. I only know what I see in the tables.

My choice though, in this higher bracket, would be for Silvano. His fee of R60k is less than Captain Al (R80k) and we know Jet Master, Fort Wood and Western Winter are in the R200k area.

Silvano, this season, is head and shoulders above everyone so far. Not only is he top of the log, but he tops the win and place strike rates amongst the top 20 sires as well.

In a cheaper price range, Parade Leader (R20k) is looking very good. He's 7th on the log with good win/place strike rates, and only a couple of crops in the track.

Thanks Sabre; I agree with both; also I think Count Dubois is making a comeback this season with his juveniles - but I am not sure what his fee is?

Count Dubois is at R60k. He's way down the overall table this season but does top the juvenile log at this early stage.

Silvano is R90K this season,

Best value for money at the moment IMHO is Fort Wood and Trippi.
