Is it the death nail of the racing industry?
With the massive rise in internet gambling,if racing wasn`t bred into you by your Father /Grandad/Mum who-ever,whats to stop racing fading away..
In the UK youngters punt football or play poker and wouldn`t know how to place a swinger or Yankee, racing just isn`t sexy enough for the youngsters..
Look at the hours of football that are shown on tv why would they punt racing?
Fred done of Befred fame in the UK said that Racing once made up 90% of their take and now he reckons its less than 30%
Is it true that there is no tax on sports betting in SA? whats to stop racing rotting away at the expense of the sports bet?
Just ask the Londoners that were surveyed the day after Sea the Stars won the Arc,hardly a soul had even heard of our superstar, but ask them who plays upfront for Arsenal or Chelsea or who won the Darts world championships or what Team does Lewis Hamilton drive for...

Oscar,
Sports betting in the US is illegal except for in Nevada. Also online gaming is also illegal here.
They had tried a few months ago to legalise sports gambling in a state called Delaware, but they got stopped in the senate one step away from making it happen.
Its strange though as Americans are sports betting crazy, but the indivisual state legislature still think they know better on how their citizens are allowed to live.
People have been betting with "bucket shops" for year and years.....and will continue to do so I guess, until the powers that be realise they can make a ton of money by regulating the industry.
