The Big T and Kenilworth - Saturday

I think both cards look difficult and I'm not too confident about any one of them.

My best bet on the card comes up at the Big T.

Nenekazi (Race 2) for a bit of value on the day!!!

Kenilworth looks a nightmare. I think the only bet I could think of having is in Race 1: Hills of Rome, but not too confident at all.

I think the race of the day is at the Big T between Pierre Jourdan and Ecohawk....throw in Havasha and I think you have a cracking contest on your hands.

Happy punting!

Havasha`s race is a cracker tommy take your pick from 6 or 7,imo the race of the day,you would have to think Havasha could turn it round with Pierre Jourdan? gl oscar and Karel..

What about Safwan doing the punters a bad turn tomorrow by winning?

Safwan is running in a competative maiden. I can't see him winning but stranger things have happened.

I would like to see Havasha win for the connections but I doubt he is as good as PJ. I do however think that perhaps Ecohawk may be better over 1450m on the inside track than PJ.

Having said all of this I think Pierre Jourdan is an exceptional horse and we will find out tomorrow if he is as good as they think he is.

Look forward to the race for sure!

Maybe Jacaranda Moon in the second to improve??

Best Bet: Dancing Lady in the 5th.
Outsider: Bhekinkosi in the 7th

Kenilworth tough, GAY FORTUNA unknown over the 2400m, may be the upset in the 7th.

Best Bet: Hill of Rome in the 1st
Outsider: Storey Bridge in the 9th

Why is Neisuis riding Crimson Sails for the stable and not Hills of Rome?

Cause Khathi's a better jockey :) ... stirring... I presume Bass feels Khathi has done nothing wrong on the horse so why change?

CnC,

I think it is because Khati has been riding Hills of Rome the last few times. The Bass stable are very fair I believe.

I'm happy to be honest

Not easy local racing today where the highlight at the big T should be Pierre Jourdan and Havasha, probably Echohawk cant be ignored all the best to the conections of Havasha

At Kenilworth all the best to the connections of Gilmore Girl where Bold Silvano also runs.

good punting!

I think a lot depends on the going and which horses are coming to the track 'ready to race' - lots of rain around and work schedules have been interrupted - and the poor punters have no clue which is which.

If the going turns up fairly good at the big T, I have a fancy for Therealslimshady, but if it comes up soft, I would prefer Rudu Rocks. Very competitive racing imo - exotics sure to pay big

JACK MILNER

Sangria Girl is sure to be a good price for Saturday’s Listed Cape Breeders Club Sun Classique Handicap over 2400m at Kenilworth tomorrow but she could provide wonderful value.

She is reported to have ``jumped awkwardly’’ when 6.80 lengths off Caymen Island last time and can only improve on that run.

She is in a different league to the balance of this field and her 1.10 lengths behind Mother Russia and River Jetez in the Grade 2 Gold Bracelet over 2000m at Greyville, indicates how far ahead she is of the others.

She has mainly been contesting Graded and Listed races and has often raced against the boys, sometimes with great success.

The only question is whether she will be fit enough after just one outing but Ennion may have let the cat out of the bag by engaging Karl Neisius to ride the Wolfhound mare. He is riding at the top of his game right now and if anybody can get the best out of Sangria Girl, it is Neisius.

Her main danger and likely favourite is Glen Kotzen’s Reconcile. She ran a cracker when a 2.25-length fourth to Thanks John in the Durbanville Cup over 2800m, and gets 8.5kg from Sangria Girl.

The Listed Jamaica Handicap over 1700m should go to Katici Princess. She won her first three starts and then found River Jetez far too good in the Victress Stakes.

Are We There Yet beat highly regarded Croc Valley last time so she Justin Snaith’s filly must be in with a shout, especially with Felix Coetzee in the irons.

Sangria Girl is decent and has a shout but zooming in on that run behind Mother Russia is selective reasoning at its finest. They went no pace whatsoever!

Thanks Dave for the kind words.

Dylan has told us that Gilmore Girl is very well and he expects her to win well. She was terribly unlicky in her last start when losing posinition at the 600m when the two in front of her cliped heals and the ran into a wall of horses at the 300m. The race is competive I can't see her finishing behind the other 5 horses she met last time. This has been her mission and we live in hope. We are very confident so unlike Grant Knowles, please do not leave her out of your carryover Pick 6's.
