Calling Leon Interbet

Leon-- please help
I have deposited R2000.00 into Interbet betting.
I have taken a single bet on PE tomorrow and a single bet for Claiwood on Sunday.
Why am I not able to take a multiple bet on the two centres.
It just says "NO MULTIPLE BET IN THIS EVENT"

Hi Eastexpo
In terms of gaining the full benefits of using the Interbet exchange, you are best advised to wait until nearer race time before matching bets. Generally speaking, bookies' margins on Interbet hit their lowest during the last 15 minutes prior to race time (average 8 to10%, compared with average 25% offered by retail bookies). Having said that, the night before and the morning of the meeting both offer occasion to snatch huge early stretches at a time when the bookies test the waters so to speak.
Interbet themselves are not bookmakers, they provide the platform through which bookmakers and punters can trade amongst each other online. This however, applies to straight win and place bets only. Doubles work on a different system where there is a syndicate of bookmakers that lay these doubles taken on Interbet, but only at retail prices ie. no exchange stretches available. As I understand it, doubles are usually available on racedays (with certain exceptions) and this is indicated by an orange banner on the trading screen stating 'multiple bets allowed' (see above image)
Interbet is also a licensed Tote betting operator which means they offer legitimate Tote betting direct with Saftote/Gold Circle, this the same as any street corner TAB agency or on course Tote betting window.

interbet is a superb innovation but unfortunately the 100 or so bookies that belong to it do not use it properly and therefore it is dead antepost and trying to get a decent bet at race time on outsiders is impossible..bar one bookie the rest are pathetic when it comes to antepost betting and quite frankly they should try find a loophole where punters can begin to lay on interbet ..the situation at the moment is ridiculous and they are extremely lucky that betfair is illegal
