Dear Bubby,
I tried to understand your response to me but it is so poorly written that I gave up. Clearly I do need to go back to school but preferably not the one you attended if your spelling and grammar are anything to go by.
I only wish to correct you on one point - I DID have a bet on the Met. If you don't believe me then read my post on the Sports section of this site entitled 'FANCY WINNING REALLY BIG MONEY?'
You will see I took the double River Jetez x The Stormers. I didn't disclose the figure at the time but I can tell you that it is deep into seven figures. As is my custom I will certainly lay back some of it to my bookmaker as I took the wager largely for trading purposes.
And I don't bet to beat the bookmakers. I bet to try and make money out of my opinion. Bookmakers are merely the channels that I use.

Of all the posters on this forum Garrick seems to be the only one that understands gambling odds and percentages.
It is understandable, since maths is not a strong point of many – especially if you are inebriated to boot while you are gambling.
I sometimes think there are many bookies that don’t understand their biggest ally either.
You cannot “beat” bookmakers – the maths are simply against you.
As he says, if you use them as a channel to make money out of your opinions, you are on the right track

betting is merely an opinion that is converted into odds by bookmakers before market forces take their place,,if you are serious about betting then you yourself should be pricing up on horses and sport and then comparing it to bookies odds and if you fancy something that the bookie has bigger then have a bet

guys,
you can call me names, you can curse me..its ok..
will not call the attorneys..
will rather buy you a drink AND FOOD when I see you on the track..
bookmakers left by end of 2010..
come on guys..
a bookmaker cannot survive.
Gauteng alone has 104 bookmakers..
each need R100K pm to feed their own habits
each need R100k pm to keep the venue in operation
thats R20,800,000 per month for Gauteng alone..R20 million..
thats R124,800,000 for the year 2010 in Gauteng alone..R124 Million..
we dropped from 8 million tax payers to 7 million by end 2009 and will be on 6 million by end 2010.
Italy have 21 million tax payers for the same number as citizens as RSA
3 times more the tax payers.
Where are the "bookies" going to get the money from..
the 6 million tax payers in RSA.
about 4 million are on ITC, hence cannot get credit..
most have their credit cards, cheque books taken back and have to reduce the O/D by R4k pm.
most are either on 12 month bank breathers of 50% to 100% of their repayments and the first lot are comming out by end of May 2010, or on debt relief inside the den.
so for the last 12 months these guys on bank breathers and the ones in the debt relief den, have to start paying the 100% of their debt repayments..
most will fold.
has already started in november 2009, check the stats on people filing for bancruptcy.
there might be a few RACKETEERS LEFT at the end of 2010..but bookmakers no..
remember the gambling laws (which the gambling board needs to enforce else they will be fired this year) says no credit....
CASH ONLY...
dont make me laugh..
the punters dont have cash..cannot get cash from the bank..
bubby..common sense sense tells you they were flogging a dead horse..
Candice said...River Jetez will win WHEN PP fluffs his lines today..
just listen to the girl..she told you..they knew..so did R.... and co..
they never backed the horse..
