(possible because the third was la dazzle of the ramsden-stable which is winning a lot today...) So the way I understand it and please correct me if Im wrong, you assuming that apprentice Van Niekerk deliberately tried to stop his horse from running 3rd because as you put it "he betted maybe on the 3rd". Now after the event we get the stipes report and we find out that Van Niekerk is the victim. Of course Im going to defend Grant, not only was your post incorrect and unfounded but things said like that could be detrimental to a youngsters career. I know the youngster and his a hard worker and he is trying his best to make a name for himself in Cape Town.

Shekar3, I dont think jockeys cant do anything wrong as you stated. Ive ridden for 18 years and have made plenty of mistakes. So has every other jockey in the world. The difference between an average rider and a great rider is a great rider makes less mistakes. I just dont think its right that a youngster that has obviously done nothing wrong be accused of preventing a horse from finishing a place.

my sentence "i think he betted maybe on the third?" was not correct, that is true. i apologize. i just wanted to express, that i could not imagine, that someone is betting on the third and loosing ground the last few metres? that seemed very strange to me and i was looking for an answer (which is given now).

i did not want to insult anybody. if you ride yourself, i can understand your reaction now. but please understand, that in the video it was absolutely not possible to see, why he stopped... (for me).
but you are right, that one should be careful with any kind of suspicion.
look, i am far away in europe, i like very much your racings, i didn't think that my word on a punter's forum would be taken that serious by participants.

one the other hand, it is always good to have some attentively obervers, i think.

Well done for defending young van niekerk. i have gotten to know the kid a bit
and i really think he isa good little oke. I can assure you that there was no funny business there.

After the race he had a go at Felix who was the interferer and Felix even apolgised. Felix should get a suspension for that. Riaan van Reenen couldnt object in terms of the new rule. pity the guys in the stable had quite a big place bet.

Don't you think Felix is quite dangerous too often and maybe the old man needs to look at turning it up?
quite a few jocks seem to think so

Phantom, Its hard for me to comment on Felix's riding tactics because I havnt been riding since his return, Im sure if he's the 1 responsible for the interference then he will get suspended.

All I know is I'd like to have a hundreth of what Felix has stashed away and with that in mind yeah time to retire and let a few others have a chance of getting out of it!
