WHAT ARE JOCKEY-INDEXES ?

when one goes onto S.A. Horseracing you can find the final fields of races to be run in the next few days.

However there is a field marked " JOCKEY INDEXES " & this appears to show which rides that jock has on the day.
But the weights allocated to each jock are up the pole.
for example : T.Appie 58,0 R.Curling 58.0 ( these are two apprentices who do not weight anywhere near this )
N.Welch 54.5 - she weighs closer to 45 kg than 50 kgs.

what do these weights mean ? surely the correct figures to have are the latest RIDING WEIGHTS that the jockeys can NORMALLY ride at.

It is just another cockup - it should be the riding weights - but what can you expect; they still have Newmarket, Gosforth Park and Bloemfontein listed as Phumelela Racing Venues under 'Related Links'; I suppose you could contact them via email but most likely nobody would care enough to put this right.

At least Nicci's weight is reflected correctly in the 'Jockey Index' in the Computaform - so where they find the sh*t they publish on sahorseracing nobody knows

Frodo,we have had threads on here about them still listing Newmarket etc on their site for years,think they are trying to dupe some overseas tote to comingle or something!!!
