But both were bookable offences Rigzo. The first was retaliation and the second he held back Ribery by the arm when going past him. I really thought you had it won when the 3rd went in but with Munich scoring just prior to half time to gave them the confidence that they could score another. We will never know what would have happened had the United player not fouled Ribery and got sent off. Uniteds defence is poor and Ferdinand is the weak link. He looks good when there is no pressure on but when he comes up against a class player he is found out each and everytime. Torres, Drogba and Van Piersie have all made him look ordinary this season. I am looking forward to his meeting with Abedayour next week when United play Man City. Should be interesting.
If you are really honest with yourself think back to when they beat Munich in the Final. United had two shots on target that night and both went in. Munich hit the woodwork three times and had two shots cleared off the line. Munich outplayed them comprehensively. Then when they won it against Chelsea, Terry missed that penalty and Drogba missed a sitter late in the game. You were lucky to win both times. Last year Barce outplayed United. Maybe its a blessing in disguise that you went out tonight because Lyon would not have been a pushover and if you had reached the final and played Barce who knows how many they would have put past your sloppy defence. So its only the Carling Cup for you this year as Chelsea will win all there games from here on in. Arsenal should finish second and United 3rd. With Rooney going to Real Madrid in the summer and no money to spend for new superstars United may struggle for the unforseeable future until the debt is paid or new owners come in.
