The 10th @ Turf. raises an interesting question....in spite of Field Gates' best form being well over 2000m.....wins AND is BACKED over 1450 ?????

Wonder when trainer realised he may be running it over just a little further than it's best... lol.

you are correct about the distance this horse has won over , but with all due respect Field gate was a seven time winner going into this race and was really taking on a moderate bunch . She also showed decent pace in a strong race at the vaal in her last start. All in all 10/1 opening betting was nice for those who got on early.It wouldnt surprise me if she wins her next in similar company .
