This is probably one of the most interesting cards for years as it ia a whole new concept here.
I am not aware that we have had handicap races for maidens only.
I havent seen the rules for this but I assume that the races are restricted to horses that have earned a MR.
This meeting is probably not the ideal test for this concept as many of the MR's are not earned on the surface they now compete on.
Surely ,for something new,the rules should be easily available(and publicised) or is this just more of the "let them eat cake" attitude?

"Qualified" "Maiden" "Handicap"!

Trust the racing industry to beat the lawyers eventually.

They finally came up with something lower than shark shit.

Zie Zie Gabor in the 2nd could be well handicapped if she repeats her last run. She's better than a MR 49 on that effort, surely, and she is probably better over the longer trip today. Spectaboolous in the third race will be hard to beat if he copes with the sand - remember that in handicaps (unlike plate races) 2yos get their full WFA allowance,

Will Matchett have a good day??
He has R1#2 Gold Medallion & R2&9 Zie Zie Gabor to try the double then again R6#4 Breeze on By with a great chance and R7#7 Balance of payment which is perhaps the weakest link of the 4 since others with chances i.e #1,#10,#6,#9.

Is LJ Erasmus the best banker in the P6 today with Amnares & Headliner or will the banker come from Alexander in the following Race 5 with Just a Spark, Mahala, Dream Model?

Or is Royal Terrace good enough and this MAwing/Lerena partnership blossom again?

Start with these and add your own spice to it.

PA: 8,9,2,11 x 4,11 x 5,1,7 x 4,8,13,3,5 x 10,9,1,5,6 x 4,2 x 1,2
P6: 11(2,3,5) x 5,1(,6,14) x 4,13,9,11,1,8,6,5 x 10,9,8,1,5,6,3 x 4,2 (7,6,1) x 1,2
JP: 5,1(,6,14) x 4,13,9,11,1,8,6,5 x 10,9,8,1,5,6,3 x 4,2 (7,6,1)

1st Selection each race:

R1#2 Gold Medalion
R2#9 Zie Zie Gabor
R3#8 Raise a Poet
R4#4 Headliner
R5#5 Just a Spark
R6#4 Breeze on By
R7#10 Wild Russion (Best left alone)
R8#4 Royal Terrace
R9#1 Trojan Helen

I think we have had maiden handicaps once or twice before, so I would guess that the rules for the qualified maiden handicaps would be the same

We are really scraping the barrel today (some of these would be lucky to get a run in the old Bloemfontein days), but there will be 9 winners and at least 21 qualifying numbers in the PA - so have a go if you must:

R3:Spectaboolous opened at 14/1 and that was a huge price - as pointed out by Magic, he could win by a street if he acts on the sand - or run unplaced if he doesn't; at the weights Raise-a-Poet should comfortably beat Dubussey, while Three Kings could feature if he handles the sand
R4: Very open - not much between these and I am going wide in the PA
R5: Signet Ring has good course and distance form and should go close, not a lot between Just a Spark and Gold Essence on their last meeting - any 2 of these should suffice in the PA
R6: Breeze on By the obvious one - only possible PA banker on the card imo
R7: Very open again - go wide here - I think Stortford at 8/1 represents value
R8: Royal Terrace and Durable Fire should be enough for the PA
R9: I like Trojan Helen and Starstruck

Play well

Hiya Sean

I've attached a pick 6 with your LoopyLogic Pick 6 selections split over multiple tickets reducing the cost from about R8500 to R3500 a saving of about 60%.
