28/10 Captains Gal looks generous enough?

Still fancy Winning leap for the Cup,and footsteps should just about give Bruss his first winner back...

I know am a bit keen but lost interest in the vaal...

Post the winners and be lucky

According to Laff & Goodman the standard setting for the false rail at major meetings is 10 metres,so Busta, tell us where you got your info.

Few comments from Craig Eudey`s facebook page

Almushi - Tends to drop herself out of her races and run on a bit late. Blinkers are on and we will be looking for some improvement.

Chill:A very promising first run when not completely tuned up.The draw is a concern but he must go into all bets as he is above average.

Snappy: Has ability but is a hot headed sort. Much improved last effort when we allowed him to use his pace rather than try settle him and that will be the game plan on saturday. Not a great field and we expect a big run from this horse.

Thandolwami- Wasnt given the best ride last time when taken wide the whole way around greyville, hence the jockey change.A course and distance specialist and rates a danger if he reproduces his best form.

Firebird Rising: Talented filly plagued by a multitude of problems. We dont expect her to beat the stable companion over this distance.

Touch of Spring- Small filly with a big heart. She doesnt know how to run a bad race and will run very well with the stronger handling of Felix in the irons.

Maritime Mist- Another very honest filly running at her favorite track. Strong field to take on although she was only 2.75L back in the same race last year. Blinkers on again and she could cause an upset if things go her way.

For me Hospitality off a low weight is certainly the one to beat in the gold Cup. I'm a big fan of Winning Leap but he has a big weight to carry for a 3 year old. (History against this boy and this race not quite as easy to win as the Gold Bowl)
The only danger for me is Thanks John

Seems like a nice days racing!

I like Thanks John, he seems to be going in the right direction and Mike Bass always delivers on big race days. The whole card looks difficult with the only Pick 6 banker looking like the Bass coupling the the last leg.

Good evening all. I concur with Shikar3 as regards Captains Gal. Great filly but I reckon Gibraltar over that C&D gonna take a power of beating.... and I am going to include Temair for a few swingers. I watched this one run at Durbanville... will like Greyville and at the price... well what can I say... I like lurkers {smile}

As regards the Gold Cup.... I will state categorically that if Winning Leap wins.... I will give up racing (except for next weekend) ....

Don`t doubt the Gal 1400m is her trip and she was too pacy for blue in the Sprint, more worried about the draw..
