Whats your best track?
Derby hosts bow out in round one of course poll
IT was a bad day for the Derby hosts in round one of the best racecourse vote, with both Epsom and the Curragh losing out to Leopardstown and Punchestown respectively in racingpost.com's World Cup of Racing.
The other showpiece tracks had no such trouble, easily disposing of their first-round rivals. Sandown and Goodwood polled the biggest-margin victories, both earning over 90 percent of the vote, while Cheltenham, Newbury, Aintree, Ascot, York and Chester all polled scores of 80-plus.
Down Royal proved more of a challenge for Newcastle, with the British track scraping through with 52 per cent of the vote, while Naas and Towcester took it in turns to lead their clash throughout the day until Naas finally came out on top with 51 per cent.
