Charlie Appleby has given the strongest indication yet that Ghaiyyath will contest a potentially star-studded Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.
The trainer on Tuesday stated his intention to run the world's highest-rated horse provided the Godolphin star pleases in a crucial workout on Wednesday morning.
The Juddmonte International Stakes hero was one of 13 runners to stand their ground for the highlight on day one of Longines Irish Champions Weekend, with Aidan O'Brien responsible for six entries as he bids for a ninth win in the race.
The Ballydoyle challenge is spearheaded by Magical and Japan, while exciting French raider Sottsass also remains in the reckoning for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget, who won the Leopardstown highlight with Almanzor in 2016.
Appleby said on Tuesday: "Ghaiyyath will work tomorrow morning, we will have a final discussion then and if everyone is happy our intention is to fly to Dublin on Saturday morning."

Confirmed now Dave “ Charlie Appleby has confirmed Ghaiyyath will run in Saturday's Irish Champion Stakes (4.10) at Leopardstown after the five-year-old satisfied his trainer that he remains in peak condition following a routine gallop on Wednesday.
Ghaiyyath, who also holds an entry in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 4, was last seen powering clear to beat Magical by three lengths in the Juddmonte International at York”

Big G on form has these held.and should win but can't take 8/13
However with 6 runners it could be a muddling race ,with 3 out of 6 from O;Brien.
Scotsass will be suited by the 1m2f.
Big G still in Arc,could be technicality.
Saints 13/8 to beat Palace!!

The difference is that big G will go to front and dictate own pace.
