Good morning all and we have another special meeting this week from Goodwood.

The daily UK thread will continue and we did have a bit of a surprise in the King George but it was a race I did not really have a strong fancy and the question is, how good are the 3 year old crop this year? Let's put it down to a strangely run race.

The good news is that many of the hotties 🔥 have been arriving at the smaller tracks.

We will do a daily update on Goodwood but here is an overview on what's on offer this week.

Tuesday: we have the Goodwood Cup and we did mention that the match race between Kyprios and Stradivarius could have another factor in the shape of Trueshan and 8/1 was suggested if the ground is suitable.
Coltrane is also no slouch.
With Atzeni replacing Frankie it has taken a bit of the fairy tale aspect of a Stradivarius victory.
At this stage Trueshan is my fancy.

Holloway Bay could be hard to beat in the Vintage Stakes.
Sacred should be fav for the Lennox Stakes.

Wednesday: we have Rocket Rodney in the Market Molecomb Stakes .
Sussex Stakes will have the star BAAEED hopefully keeping his unbeaten record with Coroebus, Alcohol Free and Order of Australia trying to make it difficult.

Thursday: is the Qatar Nassau Stakes where you might want to consider Nashwa for your ATCs.

Friday: we have a group 2 and two group 3s.

Saturday: Qatar Lille Langtry Stakes group 2.

A dry forecast following the hottest temperatures ever recorded in Britain is not what connections of Trueshan were hoping for but as things stand, last year's winner is set to take his chance in Tuesday's Group 1 Goodwood Cup (3.35).

The going on the eve of the five-day meeting was described as good, good to firm in places but with clerk of the course Ed Arkell reassuring Trueshan's trainer Alan King that any 'good to firm' places are few and far between, King is hopeful of running his stable star.

Over R500 million was wagered into the Hong Kong World Pools on last Saturday’s King George VI meeting at Ascot in the UK and TAB horseracing customers get another chance to bet huge amounts without significantly reducing payouts on the first three days of the Qatar Goodwood Festival, which begins this Tuesday.
Glorious Goodwood, the long-standing title of the five-day festival, is one of the top attractions of the British flat racing season. Major races during the festival include the Group 1 Qatar Sussex Stakes on Wednesday and the Group 1 Qatar Nassau Stakes on Thursday, and TAB will offer its normal range of international bets.
Hong Kong World Pools will be in operation on the first three days of the festival and all TAB Win, Place, Swinger and Quinella bets on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be commingled into the UK Tote, which in turn will commingle them into the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s massive World Pools.
The Al Shaqab Stakes, a Group 1 contest over 3200m, headlines the opening day and Irish raider Kyprios and Stradivarius are expected to dominate.
