Cheltenham only 7 days to go 🥳
1 year 3 months ago
Good morning/evening as this is a moving target as I post 😉
I am well aware that jump racing is not everyone’s cup of tea but CHELTENHAM is a very special 4 days.
I am also aware that it’s still seven days to day one, next Tuesday the 12th of March.
The reason I am posting early or late is that I have been looking at the various odds on offer both locally and overseas and would like to share my thoughts in advance.
It’s no secret that I did advise to take an early punt on STATE MAN as I could not see Constitution Hill being ready for the Champion Hurdle.
My bet from Classic days a.t.c also includes LOSSIEMOUTH for the Mares Hurdle on day one.
You will find it on most betting boards to run in the Champion Hurdle and in my opinion this will not happen.
The latest news is that LOSSIEMOUTH might go for the big one but Mullins has to make the call 📞 🤔
Back to day one, it will start with the Supreme Novice and this looks set to start the Mullins machine rolling with BALLYBURN.
The Arkle is next and all local interest will be on the Hollywood runner ll Etait Temps and I am sure the HW team will be in attendance.
The latest news is that hot fav Marine Nationale has been scratched and the HW horse and Found a Fifty could be joint favs 😍
We then have the Ultima Chase and should be a very open event with around 6/1 the field and plenty required for exotics.
It’s then the big one and difficult to see anything beat the inform Mullins stable with STATE MAN, where 9/20 probably best price.
Mares Hurdle next and if my assumption above is correct LOSSIEMOUTH for Mullins should be home and hosed.
Boodles Hurdle is next and will also be an open affair and help with decent exotics.
Day one will end with the National Hunt Chase and can also produce a result but Corbett’s Cross and Embassy Gardens should fight out the finish.
I would add that day one looks the best for punters ? Only El FABIOLO, SIR GINO, GALOPIN DES CHAMPS (Shishkin) ? and DINOBLUE possible bankers for other 3 days for any ATCs .
More updates during the week.
I normally like to finish with a song and you might remember Wichta Lineman from Glen Campbell but did you ever watch AP McCoy win on him, it must have been one of my most memorable punts.
It's a long video but worth watching, always under pressure, big white face in the famous JP McManus silks green and yellow.
Good Punting 👍

Mullins now has to make a choice with regard to Lossiesmouth(7/2).
If she goes in the Ch,Hurdle she receives 7lb allowanve from State Man(4/7)! and Mullins still has 2nd and 3rd Fav in the Mares.
Interesting..

I prefer to use Betfair as a barometer and hopefully gives a more accurate picture 📸

of the bankers you have mentioned,
I have lossie mouth to be beaten by MARIES ROCK who was favourite last year but didn’t run upto expectation
and dino blue in the mares to be beaten by ALLEGORIE DE VASSY in the mares chase.
Also I’m waiting on MYSTICAL POWER to be entered for the supreme over the 2mile rather than the 2m 5f in the baring bingham .
ballyburn would be better been entered for the BB rather than the supreme as it’s already ran the 2 1/2 m
betting suggests I’m wrong
