SA might as well stay at home as they have no chance of even making the super 6 at the WC. The spinners of Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will bamboozle them.

South Africa batters never adapt to the pitch except for Bavuma. Bavuma's average is over 57 ODI's. Klassen got a low bounce ball and was unlucky. Markram played a loose shot.

When we had them 7 down, the bowlers should have been more relentless to close the game. Jansen is a wicket taking bowler but is expensive.

I still believe we can be a factor at the World Cup.

Klassen was in fantastic form for the Oval Invincibles in the Hundred. Played some unbelievable shots. SA batsman just can’t play high quality spin which I think will be their undoing at the WC

Our best batter against spin is Klaasen and as you mentioned is in superb form for the last year. De Kock and Miller have extensive IPL experience. Markram is a regular in IPL and captain. Klaasen had a superb IPL last season as well. Van Dussen and Bavuma ODI average is in the high 50s

When Rabada and Nortje played for Dehli they were a potent force together.

South Africa weak point is that they do not have a proper allrounder.

I sincerely hope that they win it as foremost it will bury all the ghosts from wcs gone by. Botham and Lamb taking their time getting back on to field at a rain swept SCG in 1992 when SA needed a few runs then the semi final against the Aussies at Edgebaston the the D/L farce against Sri Lanka at Kingsmead in 2003 and the semi v NZ at Eden Park. All matches that SA should have won but blew them all.

A not full strength Aus team could put 400 on the board against SA today...

I don't hope anymore...

Terrible bowling performance, the batsman need to be on top of their game otherwise this will be a hiding

Bloem can be a high scoring ground as outfield is fast and boundaries are on the short side...so possible to chase Aus total down...
But, as I said, I don't waste hope to hope for this team anymore...

Aus 392/8 after 50 overs...projected score, at one stage, was 420 so SA did well to drag it back in the last 5-10 overs...

Aus have thrashed SA on this tour...

Our play against Zampa has been poor but I think a bigger problem is that too many of our top order are striking below 100 which creates scoreboard pressure and going for big shots against the spinner is providing wickets for him...

You cannot be chasing 8 runs/over (strike rate of about 133) and have 2-3 of the top order striking well below that...

du Plessis
Stokes
Boult

All retired from white ball cricket

Stokes and now Boult back for the WC for England and NZ

du Plessis tried to get back for 20/30 wc
but SA said no

England and NZ welcomed their two players back

Are SA wrong to stop du Plessis

My opinion is that if you retire then that’s that as you are taking someone else’s place in the side when you come back

If Stoinis gets going it will be close 3/108 off 14 atm so they are up with the run rate required
